I actually don't mind these.

Re: 2011-2012 North Dakota Offseason Thread

Two UND players have been punished for receiving minors in possession/consumption of alcohol.

Dan Senkbeil, who was cited for a minor and for failure to halt on Aug. 31, was suspended from all team activities for two weeks. He has not yet been cleared by coach Dave Hakstol to play in games. Senkbeil received his minor one week before turning 21. That sucks.

Michael Parks was cited for a minor and his punishment is being handled internally. Parks is 20.

Hard to hault when you're running at a dead sprint, can't blame him for that! This is a big step up for the team since no one threw any lawn care products or urinated on anything. Sounds like we are making strides.

That's too bad for those guys, but you have to obey the law. I'm sure Hakstol will give these guys the appropriate punishments, which I would suspect would be missing the trip to Alaska for the first two games of the real season.

Handled internally doesn't usually mean a suspension, I honestly don't think Dan Senkbeil will be making the trip to Alaska anyways, based on who we have on the roster this season.

I was thinking the same thing. Love this class coming in.

While this very well may be true, I would hope that Hak steps up and makes sure that neither of these guys make the trip to Alaska. They clearly don't deserve it.

Hadn't seen that angle yet on Nate Condon's freewheeling goal and hurdle...nice.:D

Because it happened during the offseason I would probably bet that Parks will probably make the trip to Alaska - what happens from there is anyone's guess. Sit for a period - not dress the first game... Hastol also has two exhibition games before the trip to Alaska as well.

I would be disappointed in Hakstol if all he did was have them sit a period, or miss an exhibition. Hakstol normally handles these situations with the appropriate punishment, which in my mind is at least 1 regular season game, and if I were the coach (which fortunately for all us I'm not :)) it would be to stay at home the first road trip of the season and prove to me that you can handle yourself when nobody is watching over you.

Especially in light of the recent situation down in Fargo, we need to show NDSU how to handle these situations properly.

Just for the Record - Said player in Fargo is on his second MIP but also had other driving offenses tacked on and is now only getting handled internally. Like I said i would be very surprised "if" he sits a game - not against it by any means.

Historically, Hak game Benny Blood interal punishment as well and ended up losing the "A" we never did find out what else was in store Benny behind the scenes...

If you would just go back to having a team of all overage Canadians, this wouldn't happen.

Trust me I've sent countless emails on this very subject "where are the 30yr old freshman bruisers from thunder bay ont that we used to recruit our goon status is in question and as a fan I'm highly offended and concerned about the direction of the program..." I mean what else can I do?
