Agree with the Budish comment. He was doing a variety of things well last night. Some of his passes were still a bit off, but I think it was one of the best games I've seen him play.

Defensive miscues continue to plague them.

It might also be time to give Patterson a game off. It's not like Mankato is worth a ****.

Re: 2011-12 Minnesota Season Thread (Pride On Ice Returns!)

Not the result we wanted but MSU is a solid team, we've been on the road for a good chunk of games, time for some home cooking.

Re: 2011-12 Minnesota Season Thread (Pride On Ice Returns!)

They're just not getting the job done non-conference. That may come back to bite them. They have 3 non-conference games left. The classic they should be able to sweep. It'd be nice to get that win against Notre Dame in the Hall of Fame Game, but I wasn't counting on it.

4-0 against Mankato and Tech at home shouldn't be too much to ask. They better not sleep on it though or they could find themselves dropping points.

Wouldn't read to much into this weekend. The Gophers controlled the pace and put a lot of shots on goal. They ran into a hot goalie. It happens. And it will likely happen again before the season is out.

Onward and upward.

I remember someone saying that exact same thing a couple of years ago when we got swept by the Purple Land Cows.... If this team has TRULY turned the corner this result is completely unacceptable....

Turning the corner doesn't mean going undefeated on the road.

Seasons young. They've been on the road. Weekends like this are unavoidable. Every team has 'em.

Exactly. The 'sky is falling' whining I'm reading is annoying.

The Sioux are coming to get you.

You're right. I can see why we would fear a team we already swept once that put 2 good games together against a team in the middle of the standings. I mean that sweep shot them all the way up to 9th place in the conference. Who wouldn't fear that?

If there is not a more favorable against the land cows, then I may start worrying. But even then, there is still time for a turn around. But it is a cause for concern.

That's kind of how I feel. It would have been nice to pad the PWR stats, but if this weekend is a component to keeping MN out of the NCAAs then there will have been bigger breakdowns than this weekend.

Mich St really impressed me tonight. They showed as much talent on the puck as any team MN has played this year.

On to Tech and Mankato. If the Gophers don't get 6 pts out of these two weekends, I'll start to sing a different tune.

One thing I will note, Boyd was victimized on 2 MSU goals tonight. They were difficult plays because MSU did a really good job of turning the play and transitioning tonight, but twice Boyd was trailing a guy he should have had tied up and it ended up in a goal against both times.

The Gophers are going to get killed by CC whenever they play.

i also noticed boyd did not prevent two goals tonight that he maybe should have. although in his defense, he knew where he had to be.. he just didnt quite get there/win the battles..

Yeah the Sue are so much better than the Gophers, we have no chance with CC, makes total sense to me.

Re: 2011-12 Minnesota Season Thread (Pride On Ice Returns!)

CC looked like they had no interest in playing defense all weekend. it was some of the worst 2 way play ive ever seen in my life.
