The last three years of Gopher hockey: just to make things interesting. IALTO

Exactly. It helps us to appreciate and hone our arrogance so when the time comes we will be ready.

Yep, Joel Vienneau.

I thought so. I don't see the big deal (not saying people are making it out to be a big deal). As long as the core of the team is based south of the 45th I'm ok with it.

Re: 2011-12 Minnesota Season Thread (Pride On Ice Returns!)

I heard Hammy say on the GPL Podcast say that we cooled in our pursuit of this kid. He's a smaller kid, and we have plenty of smaller, skilled forwards coming in. Likely we're looking for more size up front at the moment (ahem... Paging Mr. Fasching).

And it wouldn't have been the first time tDon recruited in Canada (see Kris Chucko and Peter Kennedy). He just doesn't do it very often.

From what I was told (and this was a while ago) was that Potulny liked the kid a lot but there wasn't a unanimous agreement on the staff about the kid over time.

I'm not saying anything about the quality of the player. He might end up pretty good. But the Gophers already have their fill of recruits that fit that style... and they are entering college pretty much the same time as Depourcq would be. Sounds like the focus moving forward will be to balance things out with a little more size now that they have locked down some elite smaller guys.

Makes sense to me. Thanks Hammy :)

I heard that Fasching was going to commit to Notre dame!!!!

Not on the list of schools I heard he was considering, but you never know. I don't think he is close to making a decision though, so I would be interested in knowing whom you heard that from.

I was skating with my son and my uncle and my cousins kid that has a letter of intent from wisconsin as a sophmore from moorhead and he has a buddy on the us team in ann arhbor mich and his buddy says fasching is leaning towards notre dame! Dont know if its true or not but my uncle is pretty big in the minnesota hockey scene and his info is usually pretty acurate! I hope he is wrong cause I would love to see that kid with an M on his chest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You should probably ask your tailor's brother's sister's nephew's best friend just to be sure.

You should still ask your stylist's landlord's mechanic's milkman for clarification.

In Fasching's last comments about colleges (at the beginning of November), the four he listed were Minnesota, North Dakota, UMD, and Cornell. Those may not be the only ones in play but I think it is clear when a kid gives you a list, he's probably only going to mention the ones he has at the top of his mind as serious possibilities. My suspicion is it will be the Gophers or Cornell.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Fasching pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

It's always funny when somebody who types such an incoherent mess calls somebody a dumb***.
