2010 NHL Off-Season: Sather is a dink

Re: 2010 NHL Off-Season: Sather is a dink

I'd imagine it would've involved someone worth a bit of money going back in return. His shot on the power play is lethal and provided he doesn't decide to break himself fighting, he is useful.

Ryan Smyth? Hehehe, that'd be hilarious.

That would've been hilarious and I'd imagine Edmonton would've brought him back for the tears.

My suspect was Justin Williams. He would've cut down on the cost of bringing in Souray getting Williams' money off the books. Still though, Souray just costs too much.

There was an article in the LA Times this morning about Kovalchuk wanting 10M a year for 10 years. Good luck with that.

If that's the case, I hope he enjoys getting his KHL paychecks when the Russian Mafia feels like it.

Well one of the better names on the FA market for forwards just went.

Lombardi signs with Nashville for 3 years, $3.5 million per.

Great pick-up for the Preds IMHO.

Re: 2010 NHL Off-Season: Sather is a dink

With that much money invested in defense, whoever plays goal should be irrelevant.

Unless its a guy who lets in shots from players who were being well defended and could only let go a shot from 179°. Remember that?

Eklund is saying the Flyers have asked Gagne to waive his NTC. I'm gonna cry.

Re: 2010 NHL Off-Season: Sather is a dink

The news I was told about yesterday with the Kings, I'm guessing, came apart because the part that was going to happen was blown up because a certain signing didn't happen yet. The news that was relayed to me was about a trade the Kings were making to acquire a defenseman and they were going to have a huge presser. A huge presser wouldn't have made sense for who they were getting alone, but if they had signed this other player, it would've made complete sense.

Paul Martin? Thats what the guys on the NHL Radio we're saying the Kings almost signed yesterday.

You're going to cry over an Eklund rumor?

I'm going to cry too. But it'll be from laughing so hard at you.

Nope, it's been confirmed by other legit sources. And he's agreed. No way Gagne is back with the Flyers now. I can't wait to see how Holmgren screws up our future even more with another $5M to play with. :(

Hold your breath folks. Huge signing here...

Detroit brings back Joey MacDonald to play in Grand Rapids. :p

Kings were bridesmaids to both Martin and Hamhuis both would've been outstanding fits in Los Angeles.

Quoting Eklund is a poor way to do business on the Internet.

Quoting Eklund is a poor way to do business on the Internet.

Multiple local outlets and ESPN's LeBrun reporting that he agreed waive the NTC now. Eklund is terrible, I know, but he's close to the Flyers organization and rarely makes stuff up (ala Semin for Brodeur) when it pertains to them. Really had hoped it was BS this time.
