2010 Milwaukee Brewers - Pitching: Quantity, or Quality????

Re: 2010 Milwaukee Brewers - Pitching: Quantity, or Quality????

Interesting stat of the day: Brewers are now 5-0 on getaway day...hopefully the Brewers can take some of the success against Pit and keep it going against other teams. Maybe the pitching staff has finally settled down.
Maybe they just have a problem with developing a sense of urgency because they've been a terrible 1-4 in series openers with their first win coming this past series. I hate seeing them get behind the 8 ball right away as far as winning a series. They bucked the short streak of losing 3 straight series. They haven't been swept yet, so we'll see how long they can keep that streak rolling.

I wish they had a better replay angle on that Fielder hit. The way the soft padding never gave and the ball seemed to disappear briefly it sure looked like a HR, but that wasn't the best look.

Uhm it wasn't a home run...I don't know what you're watching on but the soft padding definitely gave. I'm watching in HD on WGN here in Minnesota. It should be 2-1 Cubs right now but Ryan Braun decided to assume that was a home run instead of run hard.

The FSN feed showed no give on the padding, but it wasn't a good angle.

My professor just gave everyone in the class extra credit... except for the kid wearing the Cubs hat

I'm just guessing, but I don't think the fans are saying "Sooooouuuuuup" anymore.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff Suppan you are dead to me. I don't care how good of a human being you are with all the charity/goodwill work you do. You can do that....without being in the major leagues, in fact you can do even more with the free time on your hands. Go, just go. Do everyone a favor and let Narveson or Parra pick up the reins. You had a nice run and one magical October. Please for the love of God do the honorable thing and retire.

You first pitched on July 17th, 1995! You gave up a homer to the first batter you ever faced in the big leagues....Keith Lockhart. Hell, Wally Joyner, Greg Gagne, and Gary Gaetti all faced you as Kansas City Royals. You were teammates with Mike Greenwell, Mo Vaughn, Jose Canseco, Mike Maddux....was a teammate, Rick Aguillara, and some dude named Clemens shared a clubhouse with you. (tip of the cap to retrosheet.org for the details) Fact is they are all baseball relics as you are now too. Please join them at the washed up big leaguers retirement complex.

If Poop-on isn't retired or released prior to his next start, drastic measures may be in order.

There I almost feel better GDMFCS&*(#e!io@&(#@^*!&@&(!^()@*#

Well, that was only a few years late. :p

So, when's Dave Bush's turn?

I honestly don't know how this guy still has a starting job either.

4.64 career era (3.69 was his best year, 1.25 career WHIP (although that isn't horrible, it just means that if you get on base, you're probably scoring ;) ). He's inconsistent, and more often than not he is inconsistent on the bad side.

I honestly see him as a pitcher that gives a break to other pitchers by filling a spot in the rotation, and that's it.

Not that I'm a Brewers fan or anything, but every year I'm surprised that this guy has a job as a starter.

Yawn. We only beat the Pirates by 14 runs....

Now if we could only beat someone else.

We have scored the most runs of ANY team in MLB (118) but 53 have been scored in 4 games against the pirates!

You throw out the Pirates games and this past weekend against the cubs and the Brewers have averaged 5 runs a game. That's not too shabby.

Trevor Hoffman is really starting to annoy me this season.

Edit: After giving up the grand slam, he's starting to **** me off.

I think it's that dammed 600 saves countdown poster in the outfield.
