2010 Division III Commitments

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

At the risk of passing off bad information I was wondering if anyone can confirm or deny that Dan Bremner (forward Mercyhurst College) has transfered and would play out his senior season for Oswego? He supposedly has friends on the team and would like nothing more than to win a championship. Word has it that he was excused from his scholarship for non-hockey related disciplinary reasons. Great news for the Lakers if this, in fact, is true..

Second DI transfer confirmed for SUNY Oswego, trailing only UWSP's 3.

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

An interesting note on some Hamline recruits. Cam Stowers came from the same Midget AAA program (Russell Stovers) as current Piper Tim Olsen. Also, I know of two other kids that are enrolled at Hamline for the upcoming season. Both were former Stovers players that had played Jr. A this past season. One of them has a brother that just graduated from Hamline and the other was a linemate of Stowers in Midgets. Since no sites are listing them as recruits, I won't mention them by name but rest assured, they are headed to Hamline.

Was LaNoir recruited to play hockey or football

25% of which are from Canada

Is Regan MacLean playing varsity or JV at Elmira College?

Im sure the coaching staffs are honest about where they see players but find it hard to believe a player would be coming in for JV.
Haven’t seen him play but its going to be hard for him to make the Varsity team. 13pts in 45 games is not lighting it up as a forward. Stats are just stats, maybe he is a defensively responsible bottom 6 forward and EC saw that quality in him. Not sure, but has good size so maybe he is a physical Mark Biesenthal type player. But…. The competition just in recruiting class is stiff let alone returning players.

Looked at pts for incoming recruits. they range from 39pts -119pts.

Just leaving for work now, so I won't be able to list them until tonight (unless Webb wants to do it), but I have confirmed both Regan MacLean and Zach Paine for Elmira.

I saw a website where Paine was listed as 5'0 145 pounds!

Yikes...Albert Mitchell part deux?

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

I'm lovin that new Utica Recruit from British Columbia :D ...Utica needs more recruits like this to compete better with the other D-III teams....

Utica needs to keep some of these recruits around. It seems like they've had a high turnover the past couple of years.

have you seen him play or is it that he is from B.C. and that makes him a good player..........?????????..........I think they may have a high turnover due to the fact that they have to go to school as well. Some of these guys may not realize that lol

And let's not forget that even with all the fin. aid available, Utica is not exactly a cheap school. Perhaps after a year or two, these kids realize that they just can't afford 4 years there.

Well he will almost certainly be the highest scoring player, from the best junior league in canada, to be freshman at the DIII level next year. Given this, Utica fans have every reason to think he should be one of the top freshman in the ECAC West next year - even if they've never seen him play.

Re: 2010 Division III Commitments

There are a lot of kids from the BCHL playing NCAA D3. Amazingly, they are not all the leading scorers on their teams. I know, it's crazy...
