Re: 2010 DII Football
This weekend's games. All times EDT.
Thursday, Sept. 23,
8:00 pm
American International @
Southern Connecticut
- A stiff test for AIC here.
Friday, Sept. 24,
7:00
New Haven @
Bentley
-New Haven might be undefeated, but Bentley has had a tougher schedule and has hung with those teams. Plus the Falcon's have home field.
Merrimack @
Stonehill
- Merrimack is currently winless, but was picked to win the conference by a few people. If they want to prove those people right, they start by winning here.
Saturday, Sept. 25.
Noon.
12:00 pm
Ohio Dominican @
Wayne State (Mich.)
- The Warriors are smarting after getting their butts whipped by MTU last weekend. ODU is not going to like its first trip to the D at all.
1 pm
Assumption @
Fordham (FCS)
- Fordham won't need the old Seven Blocks of Granite here to beat the greyhounds.
Lock Haven @
Mercyhurst
- Mercyhurst needs to win here to stay in the PSAC West race.
Pace @
Saint Anselm
- The winner here gets a leg up on staying out of the NE-10's cellar.
2 pm
Michigan Tech @
Indianapolis
- Much like NMU last week, Tech really needs to get a win here at Indy to prove that they're legit this year. Indy nearly knocked off GVSU at Lubbers, but its been a recent trend in the GLIAC for a team to loose again the week after they face GVSU. Good time for MTU to pick up a road win.
4 pm
Ashland @
Northern Michigan
- Another two teams that need a win here to stay in the hunt for the conference title and to keep their playoff hopes alive. I would expect a good old fashion Slobber-knocker here. A win here would help Ashland the most, as they don't face the 800 pound gorilla in the GLIAC this year.
6 pm
Central Washington (11) @
Simon Fraser
- Hate to say it, but SFU just needs to start looking for moral victories here. Just keeping it close with the Wildcats would be a good start for them. Their rivalry tilt with UBC can't come fast enough.
Mary @
St. Cloud
- the NSIC tabled SCSU's request to drop football this week with the idea that they'll revisit it later. The Huskies win here likely keeps that request on the back burner longer.
7 pm
Tiffin @
Ferris State
- If Ferris wins here, they're officially on a winning streak. Ferris still sucks however.
Concordia-St. Paul @
Minnesota State (17)
- Mankato can easily win here, and climb in the rankings, which would make their end of the regular season tilt with UMD very interesting.
Bemidji State @
Minnesota-Duluth (1)
- The Bulldogs managed to slide into the number one spot despite GVSU not losing last weekend. The Bulldogs get a chance to prove those pollsters right with a tough Beaver squad coming to town.
Missouri Southern @
Nebraska-Omaha
- UNO needs a win here badly. The Mavericks have their first five games at home, and so far, they've lost 3 of the 3 games they've played. They lose here and the wheels will fall off with tough MIAA road games coming up in a hurry. With the new AD there in Omaha, a lackluster performance from a team that was picked to finish third in the MIAA would put Pat Behrns in the hot seat.
