Just got cheap Tix off StubHub for the Wings game Saturday. (3 upper bowl seats just to say we were there for what would have been one upper level seat and a beer thru ticketmaster)

Now to just find a hotel for Friday night (can drive back to Chi-town after the game).

I apperantly read the playoff thing all wrong. No worries Sabres fans.

Didn't UND just start using it this year?

Nope. They had it last year, too.

And I don't know how long the MLB preview for their season package is (it might have ended), but those channels overlap the NHL channels. Yay bonus hockey!

The whole five of them are breathing a huge sigh of relief.
Not cool.

I tried watching one of the preview games today, and I was told to contact my cable company. So, it may have been blacked out again.

Yep, it went through the 10th of April. It was pretty cool while it lasted though.

Boston has played really well the past two seasons in the first round of the playoffs. I almost wonder if they put so much in that they tail off in the second series and can’t keep up. Than again, isn’t this the case with most clubs?
I like this matchup against montreal. Buffalo scared the bajesus out of me, and they will probably take philly out in good fashion. Yes, they don’t have roy, but they have Vanek. He ruined UNH, and he probably could have ruined boston last year if he was in. Montreal, on the other hand, has to rely on special teams, and price. If one of those doesn’t factor into the equation, this series is over in 5/6 with boston skating to the second round.

Seriously, how can you go wrong with any matchup on the east? All of these series are going to be a blast to watch. It is very plausible that none of the top ranked seeds advance. That’s how competitive it will be. I will refrain from making predictions, except that hockey fans will be entertained!

Happy playoff season. Lets get it on!!

This is the best time of year! Gotta love the NHL playoffs:) gonna be tons of great first round matchups!:)

I disagree. I think playoff hockey is wildly uninteresting and all the playoff rounds will be horrible to watch. We should all watch basketball instead. Because it's well officiated and not run by a power hungry megalomaniac.

Did ESPN pay you to say that? :D

Predictions? I think I went 1 or 2-for-8 last season, but let's go again...

(1) Washington v (8) NYR - Caps in 5. I don't care that the Rangers went 3-1-0 in the regular season, the Broadway Blueshirts are hobbling along ripe with injuries and the Caps should fly through the first round.
(2) Phila v (7) Buffalo - Sabres in 6. I'll give the Flyers Games 1 and 5 in Philly, but Buffalo will steal Game 2 for the split going home and will not lose at HSBC.
(3) Boston v (6) Montreal - It doesn't get better than this. Bs take it in 7, but I'm going to be watching every game that I can.
(4) Pittsburgh v (5) Tampa Bay - Bolts in 6. I'm thinking that the Lightning's return to the playoffs will be a little more like their pre-strike run than their two most recent appearances. St. Louis for Conn Smythe?

Picks for the Western Conference are pretty much pulled out of my azz because I do not follow the "better" half all that much.
(1) Vancouver v (8) Chicago - Canucks in 5. Keeping the hopes and dreams of Canada alive.
(2) SJS v (7) LAK - Sharks in 6. The only California team to advance?
(3) Detroit v (6) Phoneix - Pete and Repeat were sitting on a wall. Pete fell off, whom was left? Wings in 7. mmmmmmmmmmmmm, wings
(4) Anaheim v (5) Nashville - Predators in 5.

Re: 2010-2011 NHL Season Part II - Concussions Are Serious Business, Savvy?

Prediction time:

Vancouver over Chicago in 6 Games.

This pick scares me, as I think Chicago will make it a hell of a series. But Vancouver is too good.

San Jose over Los Angeles in 6 Games.

This may very well be San Jose's year.

Detroit over Phoenix in 7 Games.

It'll be as entertaining a series as last year. Detroit eeks one out.

Anaheim over Nashville in 5 Games.

Lots of people are picking the Preds. I just think Anaheim is too good.

Rangers over Capitals in 7 Games.

Henrik Lundqvist is the reason the Rangers win this series.

Buffalo over Philadelphia in 7 Games.

Buffalo's hot, Philly's not. Won't be easy, but Philly's goaltending is the question mark.

Boston over Montreal in 5 Games.

The best series in the first round. But it'll disappoint, as Boston wins relatively easily.

Pittsburgh over Tampa Bay in 6 Games.

I'm amazed at what Pittsburgh has done despite the injuries. Tampa gives them a run, but the Pens are just too deep.
