Well that was a fun time, even if the Wings mailed it in from the get-go. Multiple awful turnovers. Could've been worse, but Howard bailed them out a couple times, and Hossa cleanly whiffed a good chance for a second goal, which naturally delighted the Detroit crowd. ;)

I'm all ready to fire the overrated Torts.

Me too. His constant line juggling, lack of any development on the PP, and his whining have worn me out. I can only imagine what some of the players might think. I would let the illustrious  Sather be his best buddy in the unemployment line.

You sure you're not talking about Wilson? :D

Looks like Colborne will center Kessel and Lupul and Frattin will play with Kadri and Bozak against the Habs tonight.

Montreal and Boston in round one...33rd playoff meeting between the two teams. Sigh.

I am assuming a Thursday night opener given that the C's have a game in Boston Wednesday...

I'm not a fan of his either.

Shocking, the Rangers came out to play tonight and lucky for them Tampa decided they needed to play like it was game 7 of the finals.

Yep. And Game 2 on Saturday. There's a show at the Garden Friday night.

Haven't seen it listed officially anywhere, but looks like Game 3 will be Sunday night in Montreal. Odd to have a back-to-back.

Thanks, Tampa!

I'm nervous about today... The Hawks need a single point against Detroit to lock themselves into the playoffs... After their lackluster preformance on Friday, I'm sure the Wings will come out fired up and with their A-game... Hopefully Crawford will be solid in net and we can get some offense to back him up...

Ottawa canned their coaching staff yesterday and Florida followed them this morning.

Chicago loses, so all Dallas has to do is win.

GO DALLAS!

Now that's more like it. ;)

Chicago has a few suspenseful hours ahead of them. Honestly, I don't care whether they're in or not.

Pretty much this. Three options

1. Dallas wins, Chicago misses. Funny because Chicago fans disappear into the mist after talking all summer long that losing thier depth meant nothing as long as they had their core guys remaining.

2. Chicago makes playoffs, gets pounded by Vancouver. Pretty much the same as #1

3. Chicago makes playoffs, beats Vancouver (again). City of Vancouver burns to the ground, Roberto Luongo is stoned to death to open up cap space.

You've summed it up quite nicely. :)

Clearly, this is the scenario with the best entertainment value.

Great synopsis, BTW.

Chicago it is.

Somewhere, Luongo is cowering in a corner and crying.
