2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Maybe Habs fans really are ****ed off about the Bill trade...you'd think they would have done this before the team left Montreal...:p

Having it happen in the Sens arena parking lot makes it look like blame falls squarely on the Sens.

Of course, the Sens don't really have fans. It is interesting to note that this happening there as well as some players getting food poisoning in Ottawa earlier this season is quite screwy.

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Russo had a couple interesting Tweets, 1) it took Havlet a month to break in his skates and 2) how do they replace destroyed braces (knees, etc) in a day?

This is going to be a logistical nightmare for the Wild & the NHL for several weeks...

On a John Scott realted note, if you havne't seen the MN Wild fire picks you should check them out. Russo's latest blog says that whlie not all of the players equipment burned, Scott lost all of his.

Here's an inventory of the situation.

Story on the Strib here.

I think the worst part is that both of the goaltenders equipment were completely destroyed. I bet it was Benoit Pouliot. :p

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Wasn't Bruno the one crying about how he lost everything...including the shoulder pads he's worn for 20 years? And all of his stuff is good to go?

Apparently his knee brace is the one he's all bent out of shape about. Not that I blame him, those things are a beeotch to get the way you want them to be.

Just to add injury to insult: the flu continues to be rampant. According to Russo:

Russostrib Belanger, Earl look to be out, Latendresse doubtful with flu. Wild may have to play one short

Backstrom appears good-to-go from various reports, however. This should be interesting...

Down 2-0 to the Sens in the 2nd. I guess they do miss their gear!

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Wild down 2-0. I hope equipment gate doesn't send them into a long term tailspin. :(

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Wow, Wild are making this thing interesting.

Down 4-1 when I tuned in now all of a sudden 4-3 and they almost just tied the game.

What a pass from Stoner to Havlat.

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

If this is a tailspin I will take it! 13 SOG in the 3rd period alone

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

The last 8 minutes have been just fantastic

The Wild turned on the jets and dominated. Sure they are getting a loss but man they showed a ton of heart and it was fun to watch!

They probably should have started that in like the 2nd period.

But it's at least good to see they have that high gear.

I'm still kind of on an adreanaline high from that last 10 minutes  However, I was sitting the stands absolutely ****ed off up until that point.* Said tailspin was heavy on my mind (and probably in some of my audible comments). Hopefully the play we saw to close the game can carry over versus Edmonton on Wednesday--who are getting owned by the Blues at the moment, BTW.

The Stoner to Havlat pass was just sick; I called for the pass [in my head--maybe a little out loud so the people around me could hear, but that is it] as I saw Marty sneak to center ice. It was just awesome to see Stoner stick it an then Havlat actually scored! I couldn't believe they actually connected  :D I really wanted to see OT and the extra point, but that play, at least for tonight, was worth the price of admission

*Which led to more alcohol consumption and the trouble typing at the minute ;) :)
