Signing caught me by surprise, but I'd say the price is right. Should help improve our defense. Sheppard should probably be worried.

Biggest impact.........his '99 son Tyler is a great hockey player, look out pee wees (or whatever you call '99s this upcoming season in MN).

Seriously, he's still a good player. Took a lot of key faceoffs in the playoffs and can still kill penalties well. Probably 12-15 minutes a night now at age 37 versus 18-20 minutes. 10-15 goals and solid two way play. He's not going to bust out and score shorties like he did against the Gophers, everybody gets older. :)

I wish the Devils re-signed him. He adopted well to a reduced minutes role in Chicago, he'll be a good team guy.
