Jonathan Cheechoo placed on waivers by Ottawa as well.

Also, the Florida Panthers canceled practice today and sent a letter to season ticket holders saying to expect major changes today.

Yikes.

Oops. Yesterday's news.

Please, don't remind me! I'm sure every GM in the league was calling Gauthier after that deal to see how badly they could fleece him. Ugh.

PK Subban called up, Price named starter tonight. Gautheir to meet press at 4pm. Hmmmmmm

I heard the rumor of Vokoun to the Caps...if that's true...god help us...

Give the cup to the Caps right now.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Thread 2: Its all going up in flames!

Vokoun has said he won't waive his NMC, for what it's worth.
False.

Vokoun said he’s never had any conversation with the team about waiving his no-trade clause during his two and a half years here, but he would consider it depending on the situation.

“To be honest with you, I haven’t been thinking about it,” Vokoun said. “Right now I’m playing here. I like living here. I like the dressing room. We have a good bunch of guys. If something like that came up, I would deal with it in the present. And to be honest with you, I haven’t even given it a thought yet. It would all depend what the situation would be. It’s hypothetical, if it ever happens.”

That said, Vokoun would consider the trade because he’s running out of chances to play in the playoffs, which he hasn’t done since he was traded from Nashville to Florida at the 2007 draft.

“You want to be in the playoffs. I haven’t been in the playoffs ever since I came here. So it’s frustrating,” Vokoun said. “When you get older, you don’t know how many chances you’re going to get. It’s a lot of stuff you can’t control. So you’re just trying to keep it as positive as you can and do your job the best you can.”

McKenzie reporting Minnesota may have a deal in place for Cam Barker...

Edit: Official: Johnsson and Leddy to Chicago for Barker

Sharks trade Jody Shelley to NY Rangers for a draft pick

He seemed like a nice enough guy, but completely redundant with Staubitz and McLaren on the team. He'll also be pointless in the playoffs, so good move for freeing up cap space regardless of what round.
