No mater which chamber works on a bill, it has to get past McCarthy and his circus. Hard to get past him when the options are "Accept the McCarthy hostage bill as is, or we burn the entire place to the ground."

Give no quarter. Do not negotiate with anyone who says they are going to shut down the government. Declare that attack on democracy to be outside the legitimate operation of the legislative process, and treat it as it is: terrorism. When the leg shuts down, have the EOP start issuing policy after policy and measure after measure, according to a straight ticket Democratic agenda. When the Nazi Court objects, ignore them like Jackson and Lincoln did. Force the GOP to fund what they have already spent, in order to get the legislature back up and running and serve as a check, in order for the Right to have any say in governance.

Then go to the People and say "if you want the government to work, stop electing terrorists. If you keep sending terrorists, you will get no more government cheese, no more tanks, no more social security checks." Universalize the pain. Make it impossible for the Right to use this weapon ever again without being wiped out electorally.

It's the only way. This is parenting a stupid, spoiled brat that has gotten hold of a gun.

News — Schumer tells me he and McConnell are in talks and will try to cut a deal to keep government open — amid deep divisions in the House and McCarthy’s struggle to get 218 votes. He says he is pushing for Ukraine aid, setting up showdown with speaker.

Schumer on his talks with McConnell: “I am very, very optimistic that McConnell and I can find a way and get a large number of votes both Democratic and Republican in the Senate."

Nothing anybody says in public during a negotiation has any factual value. It is all optics.

Schumer is setting up: "I did the best I could, but you know those wackjobs. \_(ツ)_/ "

The ones that elect the fringe want this. They don't care if everything falls apart as long as they get theirs - or more importantly - the other guy suffers more. That's the problem.

That's fine, because we need to drive a wedge between them and the lofo morons who vote GOP out of zombie inertia. Those people will vote their self-interest. We merely have to let the GOP really, really harm them.

Stop protecting Republican voters from Republican policies. Let their elected officials give it to them good and hard.

We can't dominate 48%, but we can dominate 33%. Force casual Righties to choose.

LOL "from time to time", as in what, once a decade at best?? Magoo is virtually owned lock, stock and barrel by the CCP, Ukraine, and apparently now Iran. I don't see this guy lifting a finger to seriously explore any of it ...

It definitely seems that way. Taking a job in the Biden administration and ending up the face of one of the signature pieces of legislation (Infrastructure) and being willing to go on Faux or in front of the Nazi Congress and just speak truths in ways even morons can understand has made him one of the most likeable politicians out there. If this was Biden's second term or if he had chosen not to run I think Pete would be one of the two frontrunners with Newsome.

Agreed

It's becoming more apparent this was also a rebrand. He wanted to stop being referred to as "Mayor Pete" because we'd all agree that has an "Oh that's so cute" cloud hanging over it that doesn't exactly translate to votes for POTUS.

He'll make a good president.
