'09-'10 D-III Bracketology

Re: '09-'10 D-III Bracketology

I'm thinking a lot of D3 fans from the west will make the trip to see the Frozen Four...If i was still in Duluth/Superior...i'd be there even if UWS wasn't in it.

you are probably right. There would be a lot of fans that would show up to see the great Eastern teams(honestly). Plenty to support their western team or teams. And a lot of D3 fans that never get a chance to see a championship tourny. Not to mention the Eastern fans and families that would be willing to travel and leave the comforts of home. Don't worry, attendance would be just fine. The midwest loves watching good hockey.

Re: '09-'10 D-III Bracketology

Coaches typically recuse themselves from the discussion when their team is involved. That's how the selection process works.

They don't recuse themselves on their own....they're required to not be part of the discussion of their own team. Techinically, they're supposed to leave the room, but in reality my guess is that they just sit there quietly.

Re: '09-'10 D-III Bracketology

I watched the show and saw the teams, but I missed who is hosting the final four, is it Amherst, since they are getting the bye?

Re: '09-'10 D-III Bracketology

Did they say that Amherst was going to host the Final Four with the bye?

Re: '09-'10 D-III Bracketology

I don't believe so just that they would play the winner or the west.

but they said in the beginning of the thing that the No. 1 seed gets host and bye. they didn't say it about amherst specifically though. but i'm pretty sure it was mentioned in the beginning.

Re: '09-'10 D-III Bracketology

I just watched it again....the host states:

"One team received the first round bye and will host the semifinals..."

Yes they did, Amherst received a bye and is hosting the Semifinals, sounded a lot like the finals are in the east again. So much for the recommendation to have it in the west once every four years.

For all of you out there that said it would be out west for sure and that I did not know what I was talking about, BITE ME!

Thank you for that bite of enlightening commentary. That said, shame on us for taking the NCAA at their word.... Seems like the consensus in Plattsburgh this weekend that this was going west. Before we pile on the NCAA here, can one of the esteemed members of the media be able to confirm if either of the western teams put in a bid to host the final four?

Re: '09-'10 D-III Bracketology

So...I guess everyone gets to fight over spots on the 4 sets of bleachers with 3 rows?

When you look at the NCAA press release after the selection show, it says that the final four will be at the winner of GAC/RF.
