Dump Term 2 Part 3: "But I Say Unto You, Hate Thy Enemies." -- Revulsions 5:44

Imagine graduating college these days...double digit unemployment (for that age) and six figure debt.

and everyone in their 40s and 50s getting laid off.

gonna be a lot more jumpers from bridges, be careful out there
The average of 50k jobs gained per month (roughly what it is now) is the worst since 2020...and before that 2009. So The Pandemic and The Great Recession.

Roughly 800k-100k people have lost their jobs since January.

Cut to the real world:

cool! i stand by what I say, too.

neat how that works.
LOL

But I have the evidence to back it up. No WJ tournament in the USA, outside of one (out of two) in Buffalo and one in Grand Forks (being close to Winnipeg), ever did well with attendance. And they all occurred in various political climates.

The Twin Cities is too far from the Canadian border to make a long stay trip out of it. Canadians were never going to travel en mass to that tournament no matter who our President was.

Counterpoint to that is the recent rise in popularity of the tournament in Europe, Sweden and Finland especially, and the good attendance in Sweden and Czechia. People are clearly willing to travel for the tournament, Canadians included, and up until the end of October last year the idea of hosting the tournament in the Twin Cities seemed like a slam dunk. It's easy to get in and out of the Twin Cities travel wise, plenty of hotels, and centrally located arenas. I don't think it's unfair to think travel packages would've sold well if the political climate was different.

I'm just done, he's now on ignore. I've been talking to the teams as they come in, but what do any of them know? Not as much as him!!!

the amount of kids who told me their parents aren't coming to watch them was heartbreaking.

It's not necessarily a cheap ticket, though.

I love the world juniors, and I still may find my way to a game or two. But for my wife and I to go to say the Sweden game and sit in the lower bowl, it would be close to $400 for two tickets, after taxes, and that's without parking, etc...

Medal round tickets were $660 for a single seat for four games, so again, we'd spend close to $1400.

I’m thinking that I could walk to them and get a ticket for $20 on the street.

List it amongst the many ways our politicians have failed our nation.

Good effort but that’s about in line with what ticket prices were last year in Ottawa and three years ago in Halifax. Heck, there were worse prices in Edmonton in 2022.
