I am not playing that game anymore. Gavin will be a way stop to the next Nazi and he likely will do enough bad crap in the meantime to make it not worth it anyways. Not to mention you are telling Trans people and Homeless People they might as well gtfo.
If shitheels like him are the best we can do then we deserve what we get. He will spend more time "working with the other side" than even Biden did.
I am done placating Centrists and Neoliberals. This government doesn't represent me and I am not voting in people I despise just because I despise them less than the other side. That is not a healthy Democracy and will only breed the next Trump.

As a trans woman who's been homeless a few times:
My house is on fire.
Republicans are openly dumping accelerants on the blaze.
Democrats are:
Saying "if you donate to us and vote for us, we'll put the fire out."
Having a week of Visibility and Awareness about my house being on fire.
Posting on social media how outraged they are about my house being on fire.
But doing nothing or taking very weak measures to put the fire out.
The house is still burning.
My house is on fire.

In 1933 the German Communists took the principled stance and walked out of the Reichstag rather than ally with the "moderates" to grind down Hitler in a hard slog with the flawed parliamentary tools they had. The result was they instantly gave Hitler the super majority necessary to pass the most extreme version of the Enabling Acts, overriding the federal states' (many of which directly opposed the Nazis) power with total central control and ultimately outlawing all the other parties except the Nazis.
They sure showed those moderates.
In politics, you never win by losing. Every day is its own self-contained battle and you do what is possible that day, while trying to give yourself better possibilities tomorrow. But saying "if I aint startin' I aint departin'" only hands the cudgel to the guy who wants to kill you right now this second.
In one breath people on this sub excoriate Muslims for imposing a Palestinian purity test on the DNC and staying home. And in the very next breath...

Listen, it can be hard to see. I struggle with it outside of being Jewish. To me it looks dumb that Muslims didnt vote for Harris because she (would have done little to stop Israel but still) would have been better than Trump. But if the Gazans are dying anyways what does a few degrees of difference matter?** Neither candidate was going to do what must be done so its a loss either way.
To a marginalized person there is no winning. Take MissThundercat...if the choices are the party that openly wants you exterminated and the party that will turn the other way as you are exterminated then it totally makes sense that the only winning move is not to play.
If we cant defeat the wolves in sheeps clothing in our own party then the game is already lost we are just trying to help our next contract by scoring meaningless points. Vote Blue No Matter Who doesnt work because the only ones doing it are us. The Zohran race proved what we all knew anyways...The Gavins and Schumers of the world will never shift, they expect us to come to them. And the more we do it, the less power we have. I'm told that HHS has just terminated all funding agreements with the American Academy of Pediatrics. Here's a letter HHS sent canceling one of the grants, relating to work on birth defects. Canceled because the project "emphasizes equity, diversity, and inclusion as key foundational components"
