2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

So, Elmo and Dump were suppose to celebrate Hair Failure's big return to Xitter with a Spaces interview. Due to technical difficulties (i.e., Space Karen is a dumbarse who doesn't understand bandwidth and load balancing), it's been called off. Elmo is blaming it on a DDOS attack. :p

Said he would move to Venezuela if he loses. Praised Elmo for firing workers on strike and that he is fine with climate change because he will have more oceanfront property.

Even by Dump's low standards, it was a trash fire of epic proportions. He'll still be polling at 40-45% later this week though.

Am I missing something in the strategy? If certification is just delayed, that just means Biden stays in the WH. Can’t have a coup when you don’t hold the seat. And who wins if congress and scotus differ? It takes congress to make a president, right?

As I understand it, Biden's (and Harris's) term ends at noon on inauguration day, period. If no new president is sworn in, I think they go down the chain of succession for a caretaker president until a new one is installed. But that's completely from memory without even giving you the courtesy of googling it.

This. When your term is up, it's up. Period. And then they follow the process you laid out, though the exact details may differ a bit, but the gist is the same.
 
It cannot be stressed enough that Harris has to get at least the 81M votes Biden got in 2020, and another 7-10M vote margin of victory. Anything less, and they will go all-out to contest the result and throw it to the House. They're going to try that no matter what, but if the margin of victory is within 1-2 points, it gets easier to hoodwink the average American dolt into going along with it. It has to be a definitive smackdown.
 
It's not that simple though. Contesting only works if Harris doesn't cross the threshold or states that pushed her over refuse to certify. If enough states certify it doesn't matter what the Red Nimrods do.

For example she likely won't need GA to declare anything if she wins the states with Blue people making decisions. Whitmer, Shapiro and Evers aren't going to refuse to certify if Harris wins and neither will Hobbs. Some states need the SOS to do it so that will depend who is in charge I guess.

So the key is, what states are an actual threat? Not just because one or two counties refuse but because the infrastructure is in place to hold it out long enough. How many of those states will Harris win and can she get to 270 without them? I admit I'm no election expert but the vast majority of states she will win (in theory) are not going to cause such an issue especially the big ones. We just need to know each states rules.

That doesn't mean they shouldn't fight...absolutely keep having Elias' group and people in the White House having plans in place. But I don't think the coup has much of a chance to work unless she loses some former Biden states.
