Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I would have to say that Little and Agostino got a raw deal on this one.

The ECAC announced its three All-League teams and its All-Rookie team on Tuesday.

The teams were picked by league coaches.

FIRST TEAM ALL-LEAGUE
Chase Polacek, F, Rensselaer
Brian O’Neill, F, Yale
Andrew Miller, F, Yale
Nick Bailen, D, Rensselaer
Taylor Fedun, D, Princeton
Keith Kinkaid, G, Union

SECOND TEAM ALL-LEAGUE
Jack Maclellan, F, Brown
Joe Devin, F, Cornell
Kelly Zajac, F, Union
Brock Matheson, D, Union
Danny Biega, D, Harvard
James Mello, G, Dartmouth

THIRD TEAM ALL-LEAGUE
Andrew Calof, F, Princeton
Chris Cahill, F, Yale
Jeremy Welsh, F, Union
Mike Devin, D, Cornell
Joel Stejskal, D, Dartmouth
Allen York, G, Rensselaer

ALL-ROOKIE TEAM
Andrew Calof, F, Princeton
Greg Carey, F, St. Lawrence

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Ehhhh, you can't really argue those on the list though are undeserving either though. The only one you might be able to argue is Calof, seeing how he made the all-rookie team, although he certainly had a very good year for Princeton.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I agree Little got shafted, he should have been atleast 3rd team, even with the lost 5 weeks in the middle of the season.
I dont agree with Agostino, even though he has been a solid contributer all season he really only had one great month. He is not better right now than any of those 3 guys who made the team.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

You guys taking Colgate for granted ?? I hope so ! RPI and Union did too.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

You know the game's on Friday, right? Colgate seems to like the weekend days better.

I'm sure you'll be great against Dartmouth!!

Colgate might like the weekend days better, but Yale didn't seem to like Friday much ;)

Should be a fun weekend of games, hope AC turns out to be a good venue, but I won't be attending.

I am more likely to take for granted another phone call from Scarlett Johansson asking if she can go out with me again on Saturday night in AC than I am this Colgate team.

To review:
Our tie against Colgate cost us a third consecutive ECAC Regular Season Championship.
A loss to them would cost of the #1 overall seed in the NCAAs.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Less than 50 hours to get your picks into the ECAC Pick The Playoffs Final Round.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I think Little was omitted because of his mid-season slump. Other raw deals: 1) Jimmy Martin. There is not a defenseman in the league who is more important to his team, plus he is now a scoring threat, 2) Ryan Rondeau. He gets no credit because everyone thinks his success is a product of the team, but he was consistent all year, and didn't fall apart down the stretch like York of RPI.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

FB, great handle, thanks for clarifying that Yale would never allow such a horrible announcer on it's broadcast.
BTW are you a Yale fan? Either way welcome to USCHO and the Yale thread.

Thanks LT! I am indeed a Yale fan. I was '07, and stuck around to work at Yale. I've been lurking here all season, and finally decided to throw my 2¢ in.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Any more travelers to Sin City East?

It would be fun to meet up with you, LT, and any fellow Yale hockey fans/fan forum members at AC aka SCE. Top of the aisle between sections 119 and 120 between 1st and 2d period? I'll be wearing my dad's circa '59 Yale scarf.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Hi LT...my daughter and I will be there tomorrow...not sure where we are sitting, but we ordered the tickets from the Yale ticket office today so I am sure we will be in or near the Yale section

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I'm rolling solo and will be in town around 2-2:30. Gonna stay overnight across the bridge in Abescon or Galloway. If you guys are going to watch the night game, maybe we can catch a beer between games as well. Anyone know if there is a Schley room on the road at this event?

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Anyone know if the game will be on at Liffey's or anywhere else tomorrow?

Not sure if any local bars carrying (Liffey's or Archie Moore's are probably best bets), but as pointed out earlier game is on CBS College Sports and in New Haven area:
DirecTV 613/ 613 HD need "Choice Xtra" (2nd level package) to have CBS Sports College
Comcast Channel 274
AT&T UVerse channel 643/1643 HD
.....I called DirecTV and confirmed that will be showing.

On separate note, looks like Mason is a game-time decision (http://www.nhregister.com/articles/...4d82d26148281545437055.txt?viewmode=fullstory), anybody have an update on Anderson?

Lastly, congrats to Broc on player of the week. He may have been unfairly overlooked on ECAC teams, however it is clear he has picked his game back up recently (http://www.yalebulldogs.com/sports/m-hockey/2010-11/releases/201103156g0ug9)
