Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I don't know if he is a WYBC (Yale hockey radio station) announcer or not, I did not listen to any internet broadcasts from WYBC this year, was this idiot on the B2 broadcast or from the WYBC website?

I can tell you for sure that the internet video announcer is not the same as for WYBC. I know the WYBC announcer for the last game, and he is far more interesting, objective, and less crazy.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Nice article from College Hockey News regarding NCAAs/seedings/etc.

There is a chance (although very small of FIVE ECAC teams making NCAAs)...WOW. Also points out critical importance of Yale beating Colgate due to fact that BC also played and beat Colgate.

"In fact, there is a plausible scenario for 5 — count 'em FIVE — ECAC teams making the NCAAs. The caveat is, it starts with the assumption that Colorado College wins the WCHA Tournament — which would take three straight wins. If that happens, CC will flip the comparison with Nebraska-Omaha, knocking the Mavericks down. ... So, starting with that assumption — if Dartmouth loses the semifinal, but defeats a TUC in the consolation game, then it will get in. To play a TUC in the consolation, Yale must also lose to Colgate in the other semifinal. Dartmouth must then defeat Yale in the consolation game. Thus, Dartmouth and RPI would both sneak into the top 14, with Nebraska-Omaha being the odd one out. And the ECAC Tournament champion would get the autobid and the 15th slot. Five teams.
Actually, wait ... upon further review, the five-team scenario also works if CC loses to UAA in the WCHA play-in — thus knocking out CC — and the other ECAC things happen (as long as UAA doesn't then win the WCHAs). Also, New Hampshire can't win the Hockey East Tournament."

FB, great handle, thanks for clarifying that Yale would never allow such a horrible announcer on it's broadcast.
BTW are you a Yale fan? Either way welcome to USCHO and the Yale thread.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Any one in the city know of a place that will show Friday's game? The closer to the UWS the better.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

In the New Haven area, there are three television services that provide CBS College Sports:

Comcast Channel 274 (don't know if you need the sports package)
AT&T UVerse channel 643/1643 HD (don't know if you need the sports package)
DirecTV 613/ 613 HD need "Choice Xtra" (2nd level package) to have CBS Sports College

Consult your provider's website to see if you have the proper package.

Hope this helps!:)

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Oh yeah, there's this basketball tournament or something. Made it tough to find a spot willing to show hockey, but I found one--the Blue Moon Mexican Cafe at 1st & 75th. This lady promised me a TV for the game, but I worry she might not understand....

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Just got clearance to attend AC on Friday only, I hope I am not the only one there!

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I'll be at AC both days, LT. Do you know where your seats are?

Anyone else going?

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I called the Yale ticket office early enough to be picky, and asked to be several rows up and as close to Section 120 (i.e., towards the blue line) as possible. I'm not sure which seats I ended up with, but they seemed happy to oblige (they were tremendously helpful with regular season tix as well - great customer service). I'm hoping to find a big Yale contingent when I get to AC!
