Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Sean Backman one of the leading scorers in the country & messed up their lines.

Listen, Western hockey was slower than East last year, is slower than East THIS year & is living on their reputation.

And now they're leaking info on Cahill to some bubble head beauty pageant queen at HockeyBuzz...

Yale is #1 - a legit #1 - keeps proving it - and will continue to get better as a program with 4 NHL draft picks among it's incoming freshman class.

BTW - Andrew Miller is going to win the Hobey by the time he graduates & Kevin Peel is the fastest D in the country.

End of discussion.

This whole post is hilarious.
Thanks for the laugh man!

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Never heard of those three either. They sound like they should own a deli together though. On his best day this Cahill chap couldn't carry MMFF's jock.

Figure it out from the context, my schmutzy friend. Carroll is Harvard's goalie. Guy Gadowsky and Rand Pecknold are the coaches of Princeton and Quinnipiac, respectively. I intentionally mis-spelled Guy's surname (wait, I've got to
"word wrap") earlier...... and thus far only one person (kudos, Rodney) jumped on it!!!!!

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

I have to say, it was very kind for USA Hockey to let Keith Allain to coach at WJC so he could see real talent, for comparison purposes. Now he has something to strive for.

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

You brought up one player and two coaches, misspelling one of their names, completely out of the blue and I'm supposed to know who you're talking about? Stop drinking on the job, doc.

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Speaking of Quinnipiac, have you guys noticed how fat Chris Kotsopoulos has gotten? The guy looks like he could be the short order cook at the Athenian Diner.

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Played for the Failures back in the day. Now does color commentary on Quinnipiac radio broadcasts.

I guess nobody wanted to point out that Cahill has been ruled eligible by the NCAA, that would entail FACT getting in the way of a juicy story, I blame the original blogger for her ignorance in stirring this pot, it's what happens when you get away from professional journalism.

Joint statement from the NCAA and Yale.

“The NCAA has confirmed the process and due diligence of Yale University and the Ivy League establishing the eligibility of Chris Cahill. He remains eligible to compete in all Yale hockey games.”

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

No big deal doesn't every half decent team have NHL draft picks. When your recruits are routinely picked in the first round then you got a top tier program.

When your team beats an Eastern club (something it hasn't done in the NCAA's since Princeton 3 years ago - after which it got SMOKED by BC, and has only done 1x in the last FIVE years)...then we'll talk about your supposed "top tier" program...

And Western hockey in general...

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

So was Yale beating the crap out of UND last year...thanks for the laugh!

BTW - for those scoring at home, UND lost to Maine (another Eastern hockey team) THIS year by scores of 7-3 & 4-2.

When you guys stop PLAYING WITH YOURSELVES and getting drunk / arrested after the fact, THEN you can start yapping...

Otherwise, all of it is just HIS-TO-RY...ancient history.

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

I love when people post hilariously idiotic statements. :)

Ummmm...I was talking TOURNAMENT ace...

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Ummmm...I was talking TOURNAMENT ace...

I mean, should we count your impressive home and home with Robert Morris this year in your tally?

Let's talk about when you play LEGIT opponents, when the games actually MATTER OK?

You can't skate with the top Eastern teams - just a fact.

And Yale, BC & BU will be waiting again this year - with their teams pretty much intact...

Best of luck.

Wow. A few good seasons in a row and all of a sudden a few of you Yale fans have let it go to your heads. You have a great team, there's no denying that, but you discredit yourself, and all of the good Yale fans, with posts like these. You are an idiot. Oh, and you say you were talking tournament, but you mentioned in another post that Maine beat UND this season. That was not in the tourney, was it?

Oh, you also mentioned the past five years. Well, if I'm not mistaken, UND has SIX tournament wins, while Yale has ONE. You are obviously very new to the sport of college hockey, so I suggest you do some homework before running your mouth.

I find it funny that a Yale fan is on here knocking about playing LEGIT opponents :p:D:D

You must have forgotten that North Dakota has the highest winning percentage in the history of the NCAA Tournament. I think we know how to play when it actually matters ;)

Since the 2000 NCAA Tournament, our record against "Eastern Clubs" in the NCAA Tournament is 8-6...not too shabby, especially when you consider that 4 of those losses came against the best team of the last decade. 6-2 when we take BC out of that equation.

Yale, on the other hand, has won 1 NCAA game in 50 years.

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

I mean, for the record:

Niagara had 9 wins last year.
Merrimack was unranked & got smoked at Badger, which Yale beat Ferris & dominated Wisconsin.
Harvard had 9 wins the year before.
Northeastern lost in quarters of Hockey East in 2007-08.

Let me try this again.

UND has not beaten a RANKED team IN THE TOURNEY - other than Princeton - after which they got SMOKED 6-1 by BC - since the '06 tourney.

And PLEASE don't bring up Holy Cross (that year's RIT)...
