Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

In NO WAY would I compare us with BC - or UND for that matter - in terms of what they've accomplished in the past.

I'm talking about the present - WATCH this team - as I have yours - and tell me what you think.

THAT'S the discussion.

Clearly mommy needs to put you back in the playpen and away from big kid toys.

From reading all your pathetic attempts at logic, this is the conclusion I draw.

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Forgot to mention that the point of this thread is silly too - Cahill was, is, and always has been eligible. Never in doubt, though Yale did the smart thing by sitting him out against Dartmouth on the day that the complaint was made (to be sure that there was no new info about which they were not aware . . . which there was not). And he's also having a heckuva year.

And I'll also say this: it seems Yale has officially arrived on the national scene, because I have never seen this much vitriol, jealousy, anger, etc toward the program - ever. Despite what I said above, it has been fascinating to see people come out of the woodwork to criticize Yale, Coach Allain, the ECAC, the schedule, etc. I recall the old days when there was a Yale thread that - aside from 4-5 regular posters (TTNorm) - no one paid any attention to.

These parts have been happening for years. Yale has a good team this year though.

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

It's mainly because of the loudmouth "LOOK AT US! RESPECT!" posters that have come out of the woodwork, declaring them a legit team on par with the traditional powerhouses, despite a lack of long-term postseason success. The only place they've arrived at, at this point, is in the pan, where they are but a flash.

Good God, it's useless . . . Please read my previous post (I'm not claiming we are anything but a flash in the pan at this point, and though I hope and think we can prove otherwise, it will take more than a couple of wins this weekend, for example), and this was clearly meant tongue in cheek . . . point missed by you, in your rush for vitriol, anger, etc.

And I'm not accusing you specifically of being one of those posters. So exactly WHO missed the point here? :p
You said yourself that usually only a few posters were in the Yale threads. Now we have "YALE #1! RESPECT!111! WE'RE FOR REALZ!" threads started all the time. Those are the people that need to be educated, and need to shut the heck up until they realize what you realize:

They're having a good year. Wait and see if what they do in the post-season, and if that success continues for a couple years.

I agree. I am posting here - which I do very rarely, though I am a frequent reader - in part, at least, to let others know that many Yale fans have a fairly reasonable and objective perspective on things - we could not be more excited about where the program is now, where it has been for the past couple of years, and where we think it is heading . . . but we understand we have a ways to go to compare historically to the elite. That said, it's still fun to enjoy the ride. And I do think it is fair to say that there have been an amazing number of "Yale haters" this year - some make legit points, some seem to leave logic behind, and there are others i between . . . but that too is a very different experience for Yale fans . . .

Re: Yale: Cheating their way to #1?

Naw, I already have that. You have any more of those Hjelle shirts? I could use a good snotrag.

We already gave it to the kids in Africa with the 2010 NFC Champion Minnesota Vikings t-shirts!

Also it will be interesting to see the rankings tomorrow.
