Um, actually *pushes up glasses* Marta has the World Cup goal scoring record at 17.Hat trick.
Ties Miroslav Klose all-time goal scoring record at 16.
As will Mbappe. He only needs 3 more over the entire tournament to get that.Um, actually *pushes up glasses* Marta has the World Cup goal scoring record at 17.
(Not that it matters too much because Messi is probably going to pass that one too)

let alone, if the fountain of youth sprinkles water on Portugal...
Sorry for my ignorance, but how many more games are these guys playing than in past WCs? Not to take away from the records, as Ronaldo, Mbappe, and Messi have a pretty amazing shot.
Right idea, wrong country,Is the goal just to keep expanding until Italy can make it back?
Might need to go higher than 64 for India to make it. They didn’t even get past the 2nd round in AFC qualifying. Finished roughly 26th.Right idea, wrong country,
FIFA will expand the World Cup because they desperately want India and China to qualify. There’s about 3.5 billion people not really caring about the tournament and FIFA, and the sponsors, would like to change that.

They are competitive with each other. Especially Ronaldo and Messi. They just mentioned that the Portugal team watched Argentina last night and Ronaldo was stone faced. It is doubtful Haaland watched the France game and decided he had to match Mbappe (he was kinda busy) but no doubt he heard about and used it as motivation.Another dumb question- do the ultra stars really pay that much attention to each other like the talking heads all talk about? Like when Mbappe scored twice, all of them decided that they are all of a sudden going to score more than one?
Seems kind of childish if that is the case.
The problem is that when they do well, you can't really tell the difference between what they need to do and everyone thinking that they are trying to match other superstars.
Maybe I'm missing something, but as I see the targets: 1) win the game and 2) score as much as you can for goal differential. So as I see it, Messi getting a hattie last night has more to do with making sure there's no question where Argentina should be seeded in the next round as opposed to trying to out do Mbappe and Holland.
