World Soccer XXXI: Golden Generation?

Big difference is that the arenas and stadiums in NYC are spread out from each other (and LA is similar). In Seattle Lumen Field and TMobile Park are literally right next to each other. It’s quite a strain on infrastructure having events at the same time in the area. The only stadiums in NYC that will be near each other will be Citi Field and NYCFC’s stadium when it opens next year.

OTOH Seattle actually designed this part of their CRP intelligently, whereas the location and linkages for NYC venues are either legacy or corruption and create a vortex of hell.

NYC says hi.

Theoretically, 11 major league mens teams (Islanders, Rangers, Devils, Mets, Yankees, Jets, Giants, Knicks, Nets, NYCFC, Bulls) can host games simultaneously, IINM the city record is 7. I recall that a few years ago all 5 leagues played the same day for the first time.

Add women's leagues and I wouldn't be shocked if the city record is 10.

LA might have the same.
Well, no, since some of them share venues. Also, those are teams from multiple states... You can get away with calling the Jets and Giants "New York" teams but the Devils certainly not.

I remember several years ago there was a Bruins game at 1, the BU-BC Frozen Fenway game at 4:30 and a Patriots playoff game at 8. That was a fun day.

Penalty denied when Sane tackles Mbappe in the box.
Ian, Landon and Mark Clattenburg all say no penalty.
VAR calls the referee over to the video booth.
Referee sticks with his original call. No penalty.

Nope, it's all the metro area -- all the red and dark orange contiguous to Manhattan below:

You have to remember the population density and the city feel of even the outlying areas of the metro area feel far more urban than "whatever in-bred one horse interstate rest stop you lot crawled out of."

NYC is not most of the things NYers think it is, but it is the only city in the US.

France would’ve gotten a penalty kick if Wemby had been called for those flagrant fouls. Karma.

(Also it wasn’t penalty kick)

It’ll be interesting to see how Iraq does in this game and this tournament because if they’re serious about expanding to 64 teams, you’re going to see a lot more teams like Iraq.
