World Soccer XXXI: Golden Generation?

I just want the eventual Italy defeat to be as humiliating as possible.
Oh it will be.

I’m currently laughing at the Europeans online speculating about the draw and how the teams in Pot 2 will “definitely want to be drawn with the host countries”. Lol ok, here’s your options:

1. You get draw into Group A with Mexico and now you’re likely Euro team is going to play a midday game in the Azteca or Guadalajara.

2. You get Group C and Canada and you’re playing a tough, defensive team at home.

3. You get Group D and the US and now face the prospect of a midday game in LA or Seattle against the US at home.

To me, I’d rather have a team like Belgium or Germany or Portugal, someone struggling with consistency and having to face melting in the heat.

In the European Women's Champions League, the team in the red Emirates - Fly Better jerseys came from behind to defeat the team in the blue Emirates - Fly Better jerseys by a score of 2-1.

With the US games being on the West Coast, I sort of figured that they would just kick at 5pm local (8pm EST) so FIFA could get the US viewership #'s.

Or is it just assumed that the Euro viewership numbers will bear more fruit, even with a midday US audience? The games are Sat-Fri-Thur.

Europeans will watch it whenever it is on. 2AM? Whatever. They'll still watch. Whereas you have to force this down Americans' throats to get them to watch.

It’s a maybe on that. 1994 had quite a few 7:30pm ET kick offs. It just depends on how much pull Fox has I suppose.

Honestly, is that really a negative thing? These teams play friendlies in a rowdier crowd than anything they'll experience in the US.

And a midday west coast game is normally when they're kicking off in Europe anyway.

The World Cup is not a friendly, even in the US and especially in a stadium like Seattle’s. The crowd will always be a factor.

And I’m going to keep pounding this: Heat. Yes even in SoFi it’ll still be hot. Most players will be coming straight out of the European season, fatigue and acclimation to heat and altitude will be a factor at this World Cup.
