World Soccer XXXI: Golden Generation?

Few UEFA matches tomorrow that’ll decide the last non-playoff spots:

Switzerland vs Kosovo (though Kosovo has to win by like 6 goals)

Scotland vs Denmark (Danes can qualify with a draw)

Spain vs Türkiye (Though, like Swiss vs Kosovo, Türkiye has to win by 7 against a team that hasn’t conceded a goal)

Austria vs Bosnia and Herzegovina (Austria just needs a draw)

Group J has a three way race between Belgium, North Macedonia, and Wales. Belgium just needs a draw and they’re playing Lichtenstein. North Macedonia and Wales play each other and the winner could qualify if somehow Belgium loses, but both teams are guaranteed a playoff spot anyway.

Interestingly, the last time the World Cup was in the US none of the British Home Countries qualified. Now, there's still a chance all four could qualify.

Loved the line by the commentator on world feed: “They’re going to drink Glasgow dry tonight!”

I don’t think that’s physically possible.

Panama smokes El Salvador 3-0 to qualify for the World Cup.

Haiti beats Nicaragua 2-0 to qualify.

Curacao goes into Kingston and gets a 0-0 draw to qualify.

Suriname gets a late consolation goal to lose to Guatemala 3-1 but that late goal puts them in the playoffs over Honduras who draw at Costa Rica. Honduras AND Costa Rica both out.

Intercontinental Playoffs will be Suriname, Jamaica, New Caledonia, Iraq, Bolivia, and DR Congo.

UEFA Playoffs will be:
Pot 1: Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Ukraine
Pot 2: Poland, Wales, Czechia, Slovakia
Pot 3: Ireland, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo
Pot 4: Romania, Sweden, North Macedonia, Northern Ireland
