Wasn't he supposed to be some soccer phenom that would make US Socer a perennial powerhouse?
Yup, and then it turned out he was lazy as fuck.

Aren’t we on our third or fourth different savior now with Pulisic?

Also, guess who was the MLS Rookie of the Year in Adu’s first season? Clint Dempsey.

He probably could've used another year or two before turning pro, just for the maturity aspect and dealing with the wunderkind hype. But as he said, if your mom is working multiple jobs and Nike comes at you with a multi-million dollar contract in middle school, how do you turn that down?

Has the USMNT won a WC game since then?

Edit: Yes. One (Ghana 2014).

If I'm reading this right, here are all our wins:

1. 30-07-13 Belgium (Uruguay)
2. 30-07-17 Paraguay(Uruguay)
3. 50-06-29 England (Brazil)
4. 94-06-22 Colombia (US)
5. 02-06-05 Portugal (South Korea)
6. 02-06-17 Mexico (South Korea)
7. 10-06-23 Algeria (South Africa)
8. 14-06-16 Ghana (Brazil)

The US has never won a World Cup game in Europe.

Brazil ties it up against Colombia at the 78th minute after it hit the referee and Colombia stopped playing. They then spent the next five minutes surrounding the referee arguing with him through the VAR review and the ultimate decision of a good goal.

And now someone on the Colombia bench got a red card.

Should not have a been a goal. What an epic mistake from the referee of the last World Cup Final.

Chicago has 1 goal in their last 7 matches, and they won that one. That's efficient, anyway.
