Celtic won the Premiership for the 11th time in past 12 years(54 overall, 1 behind the gers). They go for their 8th domestic treble next Sat to break a tie with who else, the gers.

Leave Kenilworth Road the way it is and embarrass the rest of the EPL, the way Wrigley embarrasses the rest of MLB.

Less is more.

Their pitch seems to be the English Soccer equivalent to Wrigley Field pre-renovations =)

They won't be allowed to play at home till they bring it up to minimum EPL standards as I understand it.

They also have approval for a new stadium that they've never broke ground on due to covid.

It sounds like they aren't even updating that much. New lights and camera wells for Premier League broadcasting requirements and redoing their executive boxes to upgrade suites and add more room for broadcasters.

Surprising to read 5,000 is the minimum needed for Premier League. I figured it would be at least 10 or 15,000. 5,000 is like playing in a D3 football stadium in the Big Ten.

Who is in the drop zone?

Starting the day Southampton had clinched, with Everton, Leicester, and Leeds in the drop zone.

Leicester needed a win and could get by on an Everton draw due to GD. Leeds needed a win losses by Everton and Leicester, or draws by both with some help on goal differential. But Everton ended up getting the win 1-0 so they advance. As Southie said, Leicester, Leeds, and Southampton are out.

US U20s currently up 4-0 on New Zealand in the Round of 16. They'll play the winner of Uruguay and Gambia in the Quarterfinals.

I can't say I've followed this tournament in the past, but is there any reason to feel success at the U20 can translate to future success with the USMNT, or is it more the best U20 talent globally isn't made available for this event?

Usually the best talent is made available, this year was a weird confluence of an early start for this tournament and an unusual late end for the major Euro season.

I don't think success here will automatically translate to the senior level, they are kids after all, but it is a good indicator of at least the possibility. Consistent success is a good indicator that the development system is working, and this Quarterfinal appearance will be the fourth straight.

As noted before, this is the fourth straight Quarterfinal appearance for the US U20s. They also haven't given up a goal in all four games played.
