Re: World Soccer XXVI: Fun for MLS Fans and Eurosnobs Alike

We're playing Cuba on Saturday... somehow.

If they somehow win, it would have to be one of the biggest upsets ever. They'll have three player defections, one coach defection, visa issues, and injuries. First ever time advancing to the knock-out stage, and they're going to have to do it on two days less rest. Not to mention with the roster depletion they're going to be playing with like six guys and starting a leftover sandwich from lunch at midfield.

First Mexico choked, and now T&T choked. 4-3 Mexico in the 90th.

Edit: Mexico chokes again! 4-4 with a header in the 93rd by T&T. Definite karma as the Mexican fans rained down trash and bottles from the stands around the Trinidad kicker as he was trying to take the kick.

Don't forget the lasers. Karmic justice for those Mexico fans.

So reports out of Miami that Beckham has a deal to build a stadium next to Marlins Park. And supposedly without the U.

if there was a thing I'd uninvent, that'd be one of them. As an academic... I wouldn't mind a laser pointer... but having them set upon you sucks.

Frankly, CONCACAF needs to drop the hammer on Mexico before somebody goes blind.

It's so wonderful going from ESPN and having Ian Darke or Jon Champion to Fox and... John Strong.

I'm on Univision.

Soccer is just less exciting when an American announces. Having a Brit or Latino (whether it's in Spanish or not) makes it much more enjoyable.

I don't hate announcers because their American, I don't like John Strong because he's from Portland... and annoying.

The conservative sandwich heavy portfolio has ruined the Cuban investor to the tune of 6-0.

Mexico-Costa Rica should be a good one tomorrow. Strange to be excited about a Gold Cup game but Costa Rica is the cool new kid on the block.

I'm thinking Ticos 3 Trash Throwers 2 in ET.

Beach Soccer World Cup Final is on FS1. This is a lot less fun than I thought it would be, but it's also impossible to see the ball right now.

Should teams get an extra sub in the 30 minute overtime??
