How low is Fox's viewership going to be tomorrow showing Norway-Thailand and Germany-Ivory Coast? The second one may draw in some people if they think the womens teams match the men's teams, but Norway-Thailand may be the most unappealing matchup I can think of from a name perspective.

I dunno, Thai chicks can get pretty hot and Norway may be all blonde and blue-eyed.

To be fair, there are match ups like those at any World Cup, Men's, Women's, Youth.

Bosnia - Iran or Slovenia - Algeria weren't great match ups either.

Turf temp in Ottawa is 130 degrees right now.

"See, the players will be fine in Qatar, it will only be 120 on grass there!" - FIFA

I'm worried this game might hit 20.

And hot turf is zero fun. Reffed a tournament in Vegas on turf, got shoe meltage.

This CIV goalie has kept it from being 10-0 already. But now she's hurt so the onslaught might get even worse.

I would say expansion may have been a bad idea, but this is 1 vs 67 so it can't get any worse as far as matchups go.

A Germany team running roughshod over Africans via rapid flanks. When did Rommel take over as coach?

Re: World Soccer XXVI: Fun for MLS Fans and Eurosnobs Alike

It's obviously clear that Germany is much more skilled than CIV, however it was nice to see CIV get a few flurries and quick rushes. Gotta stop being cute down in the German end though and just get shots off.

Exactly what I've been thinking. Any low percentage cross still has a better chance of being a goal than futzing around with it at the corner flag. Heck, go for the own goal if you don't have numbers...

....and there's the 10-spot.

Re: World Soccer XXVI: Fun for MLS Fans and Eurosnobs Alike

This game should be like 16-1. Ivory Coast had a goal stolen, and Germany messed up on so many easy chances.

Nice to see the U.S. Team in the Toulon tournament take advantage of their good fortune and beat England for third place in this year's edition!

FIFA's Ishtar??

@latimes: Sepp Blatter biopic which cost FIFA $29M opened last weekend - made just $607 (No, that's not millions or thousands) http://lat.ms/1T77dtJ

Here I thought they'd beat them up like one of Hope Solo's relatives. At least they closed it out well.

Samantha Kerr is INCREDIBLY talented on the Aussie side, and she's quite young, too. Had the pleasure of watching her play soccer when she was with the Flash. Very impressed.

USA takes down Germany 2-1 in a friendly, in Germany.

Diskrud (40) and Wood (86) scored.
