Give us this. Please. It's all we have.

Plus, Najar is really good.

I really hope Bradley calls him up for the next friendly. Hopefully he'll make a decision to play for the US.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

I also hope he will play for the US, but I don't think he's a full citizen yet. He should be soon, but I don't know how long that will take.

I think he wanted to graduate high school first before he thought about his decision right?

That and four MLS Cups, two US Open Cups and a CONCACAF Champions Cup. So forgive me if I say: waaaaaaaaaaaaaah ****ing waaaaaaaaaaaah. :p

Ok, so maybe we're due for a little down time.

I could take the downtime just fine if I wasn't also concerned that the team's lack of progress on a new stadium could be the death knell to the franchise (at least in DC) in the near future...

But Andy Najar is pretty good.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Reports are that England's 2018 bid has been or is being scuppered by...the English media finding corruption when they posed as investors who found out if World Cup bids could be bought.

Sepp Blatter is angry and says:

"One can ask whether such an action is appropriate, trying to set traps for people. It is a deeply rooted problem [with the English media].

"Who is benefitting from this situation and who is being harmed, we are asking ourselves why did it happen and why did it happen specifically by English journalists? We are looking at that."

And the head of the Asian Football Confederation, Mohamed Bin Hammam, has used his blog to attack the British media. He wrote: "Is it ethical to use unethical methods to protect the ethic? How will we clean dirty laundry by using dirty water?"

You know what's a deep-rooted problem, Sepp? Corruption and arrogance in FIFA! Oh and it must be because they're English journalists that they did it, to make sure England got the bid...wait, the English media would sell their mother for a pint. They have no loyalty to England, this is ridiculous. No state-run papers in England and no one can control them. Hey Mohamed how about you wash your own **** laundry and don't crap in the hamper! F off!!!

End Rant.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

What a pass by Agudelo, hopefully he wants to suit up for the US also. Najar-Agudelo, mmm sounds good.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

Sigh. That's kind of disappointing from a marketing perspective. New York in an MLS final in Toronto would have been pretty decent.

Edit: Did 2 minutes of stoppage time seem light to anyone else? 3 goals, a few subs, Angel's injury...

Eh, NYRB didn't deserve to win anyways. Agudelo and Ream were the only ones who came ready to play for the Red Bulls. San Jose was good.

Sounds about right. RBNY didn't get any breaks from the ref (how could there have been no foul when two guys hacked Dane Richards early in the first half?) but didn't really deserve them either. Albright was useless, Miller was worse, Mendes is well past his best, Lindpere was technically good but without end product, Marquez launched tons of aimless balls, Angel's first touches were awful, whoever played left midfield was so ineffective that I can't even remember who it was. I can't blame Coundoul, nothing he really could've done on the goals. The Quakes were ****ing dirty, but they were getting away with it so why not?

But seriously.... Bobby ****ing Convey? REALLY?

Bottom line though: new stadium, same old Metros.

I call it the Curse of the Cosmos. They need to go back to the name and make things right with the American footy gods. The franchise has done many things to anger them.

Personally, I would have thought that Dallas, San Diego, and Phoenix would be up higher on the list than that. Philly has been out in force for this, along with Indy.

Re: World Soccer XVIII: A New Season

As much as I despise him, I'm still shocked Henry didn't start. He may not be the same man he was 5 years ago, but he's probably one of the team's two best players.

I don't think that list is in any particular order...

Henry is hurt, wasn't capable of starting.

Good to see Denver still on the list...I think we would be a great host here. Excellent Stadium, great activities....we have proven that we can host big events and do it smoothly and professionaly.
