Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

Well, we've learned already why these guys are playing football and not on Dutch/Uruguayan Idol. No micing for the final, please.

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

Oof, boot full in the face there.

edit: I thought Robben might have been embellishing but he went down grabbing his teabag so I thought that might be it.

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

Let's go Dutch! Keep those Uruguayans from profiting further from that handball. Good to see the Dutch go up 1-0!

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

Well then. SAF has to rather thrilled by this development.

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

Uruguay didn't profit from the handball?

Has a team never profited from any other type of card worthy offense? Ghana "profited" from taking Dempsey down in the box and preventing a scoring chance (until the PK of course).

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

The behind the goal shot shows the keeper was thrown off by the ball curving back...

Glad you are clarifying. I thought maybe you were disputing that Uruguay profited from the intentional handball. I don't admire what they did. Go Dutch!

Re: World Soccer XVI: The Sadness

You may not admire it, but you don't have to hold them in contempt for it, either. It was a legitimate and smart professional foul.
