Re: World Soccer XIX- Full of Pomp-ey and Circumstance

Have you seen some of those south philly girls????? although, the south philly girls don't attend many soccer games (mostly phillies games).

The shirt was the topic of conversation when I got home that night...they don't like the way the shirt looks but weren't too worried about the name. It will blend in and not even be realized in a few months.

edit: early line on next sponsor...Hooker Headers

Hooker was my first thought when this came up... I've never heard a single complaint from any female that attended an event sponsored by Hooker, lol...

How is Tottenham-Man Utd not the ESPN2 game this week?

Man, Crouch just came close there. This is going to be a terrific, open game.

It can't be. ESPN2 has the rights to the early (7:45 EST) Saturday match. If there isn't one, they get to pick one of the Saturday 10:00 kicks.

Re: World Soccer XIX- Full of Pomp-ey and Circumstance

At this point Houllier is basically just mixin and matchin people in the starting 11. I get the idea of making some changes but at this point he's just sending 11 guys our there to play and hoping something happens...how many guys did he have playing out of position? you take over a top 6 team and halfway through the season are playing spin the wheel to pick your lineup. Mgmt may have confidence in him, or at least they say they do, but he is either a genius (well hidden at that) or a lunatic that is totaly not prepared for this job.

Well, we got there in the end.

He has been living dangerously with the challenges and finally got sent off as he deserved. I rewatched the FA Cup game against the Pool and he should've been tossed. However, I'll take the 0-0 draw as we have games in hand on Al-Citeh.

Darren Bent is evidently close to heading to Villa in an 18m pound move.

Two bidders for the 2015 Women's World Cup:

Canada and Zimbabwe. Are we about to get our "Mr. Blatter, have you no sense of decency, sir?" moment?

Zimbabwe doesn't have mountains of oil money to bribe FIFA with.

Bent is in, Makoun is in...cummings may be coming over from the Rapids...not sure who is out...lot of noise about MON not getting this money and now Villa is spending money while in 17th place that they didn't spend when they were in 6th previously. I would say that the markets being up over the last few months has to help Lerner...cash has been tight over there.

Re: World Soccer XIX- Full of Pomp-ey and Circumstance

From what I've heard, the Cummings deal is very doubtful at this point, chances of getting work permit look slim.

Re: World Soccer XIX- Full of Pomp-ey and Circumstance

Excellent clinical game for Arsenal today vs Wigan... this is EXACTLY the sort of game that would have given Arsenal trouble in past seasons, but not today. Huge amounts of quality chances and van Persie with a nice hat trick (should have had 4 as he missed a penalty... skied over the bar). After the Leeds replay win at Elland Road in the FA Cup earlier in the week, this caps a really quality week of form.

Nice work, boys.... definitely playing well and should be tough going forward. Now, Arsene, please get Gary Cahill from Bolton to shore up our backline and I will feel much, much better in the second half of the season... :)

Started to pay off in first game. Big result for the Villans.

This United fan wants to thank Darren Bent for his winner over Al-Citeh. The Devils had an easy time with the Brummies beating them 5-0. Say what you will about them, but Ryan Giggs continues to play well despite his age with a goal.

So disappointing. For City, you could kind of see this coming for a few weeks now. Had played pretty poorly but managed to win. Today they played poorly and the luck ran out as well.
