Penalty to Mexico. Right call, but again, the striker was always going down.

The guy sold it, and one replay showed Abidal getting the ball first.

Don't know why ESPN won't show it again.

Wow, nice dive by Mexico to get that FK.

mexico goes up 1-0 on france... hint of offsides, but nonetheless, mexico have the lead

I guess this means the Mexicans on my street will be shooting off fireworks all night. Of course, we're within 3 weeks of July 4th so that would be happening anyways...

I don't think ESPN has any control over replays, crowd shots, etc. It all comes from one world feed.

If the goal differentials work out, this would put SA ahead of Mexico and my dream scenario of Mexico and France losing in the group stage will come to fruition.

I don't know what level of effort we'll see from Uruguay and Mexico. A draw sends them both through regardless of the other match, could be something shady in the works.

On the other hand, 2nd place in the group means Argentina in the next round, so maybe Mexico will have a little incentive.

Mistaken, sure, but <em>brutal</em>? That's ridiculous even by your standards. Let's keep in mind that the ARs are supposed to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacker, and with the players moving in opposite directions, it's a ridiculously difficult call to make.

He has to be held to a higher standard than that. That's a call he needs to get right. Sorry that I used brutal. You make so many excuses for their mistakes, I'm overly critical, you're over the top in your excuse making.

Their job is to get the calls right. He didn't get the call right, should I get him a cookie?
