Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

just knew that was gonna happen... wow

Not really sure if its a good thing or a bad thing for United. I would like to see some of the younger lads get a chance and think even winning today we don't have a realistic chance of winning the title. Martin Atkinson was ******* awful. He never should be in charge of a United game again.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

Spurs! 2-1 over Chelsea! That's Arsenal and Chelsea both dispatched in the span of four days. Next up, away to Man U. Who made this schedule?

Two points and one goal up on City for fourth, even on games played.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

The first was definitely legit.

he was arguing that he got the ball but at first glance they looked like legit cards and upon review they looked the same. The announcer made a good point on the second, no need to make that risky of a play, just drive the guy away from the net...as soon as the second foul happened you knew it was going to be a card and bye bye for JT.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

Thank you Spurs. The Soviets... ERRR.. Chelski needed that game. Terry did deserve to be sent off. Good day for United all the way around.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

At least City weren't the only side to get punched in the gut this weekend. Ouch Arsenal, ouch.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

villa actually won a game, sorry to spoil it but i suspect not many of you tivo'd the AVFC - Portsmouth game.

although, I could have sworn he was offsides....but, I'll take it.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

The winner? Delfuenso was played onside by the two Pompey defenders with sticks up their butts watching it all happen.

Of course, the header by Heskey, intentionally put off target and wide was spectacular.

Herculez Gomez's hot streak continues with two goals today:

This guy is now joint leading scorer in the Mexican League with Javier Hernandez, who just got signed by Manchester United for a move for next season. This guy needs to be in camp and as much as I dislike Coach Bradley, I don't even think he would screw up this one. The guy's career hasn't been amazing, but the hot streak hes on in incredible. He would be a perfect wild card to throw at England, Slovenia, and Algeria.

I wouldn't put it past BB to screw this one up. I can easily see him calling in Buddle but not Gomez, which as good as Edson's been, would be outrageous.

At this point I see no reason to look at forwards beyond Davies, Altidore, Ching, Buddle, and Gomez. We should take at least three of those five if we intend to play Dempsey or Donovan up front and four if we don't.

But you're right, BB maybe too stuck in his system to break the mold now.

Re: World Soccer XII: South Africa Awaits

I know all of you probably don't follow MLS too much....

It's probably (definitely) due to the competition level, but NY Red Bulls D-man Tim Ream is really fracking good.

It's early, but he's off to a great start.
