I seem to remember he was picking EURO 2008 results as well, so he has to be at least older than two. Doesn't look good for him.

Well he could have been young in 2008, but wiki seems to suggest he was born in 2006. Yeah, he's not making it...Paul can we get your odds on it? :D

If he can predict the future, he should be able to avoid accidents. (Not sure how he got himself caught, though...)

yeah he was 80% on euro 2008, one (maybe his only) mistake was picking Germany to beat Spain

In other news, Ives seems to think that Henry to the Red Bulls is pretty much done. He'll be unveiled on July 15th. Just in time for him to play against Shay Given again. That'll bring back happy memories.;)

I didn't really need another reason to hate the New York MLS franchise, but now I've got one. I've never really liked Henry. I must be a racist.


Paul did pick Euro 2008 matches. The final that year was one of only two games he's ever gotten wrong. He's never picked a non-German game before. Maybe he only knows the Mannschaft.

Seriously, why haven't we started another Death Pool? I would totally be putting Paul on it.

When he comes to Philly I'm sure they'll have some good cheers about the qualifier handball.

at least there aren't many irish around NY;)

I have to say I really enjoyed Martin Tyler and Efan Ekoku during the World Cup. Most English announcers bore me to death, but these two were pretty good. They were the only announcing duo I liked at all.
 
I understand why Spain is predicted to win the match, but tNetherlands have a wicked ca and plenty of firepower should they not become hypnotized by Spain's possession shenanigans.

Meh. I prefer Ian Darke, and from what I understand, Ekoku had some real howlers as far as not knowing the rules.

Tea leaf reading prior to the actual announcements said that Webb and Archundia were the two most likely to see the final. I'm not sure what was expected for the 3p if Archundia had gotten the final, given that FIFA avoided putting a UEFA ref on any game with exactly one UEFA team involved.

Hindsight analysis suggests that once it was down to the final four, Archundia was attached to Uruguay and Webb was attached to the Dutch.

Nishimura, Irmatov, and Kassai seem to have set themselves up very nicely for '14.

I'm going to the French Festival in the next town over in Upstate NY. Does anyone have a Republic of Ireland jersey I can borrow? I wanted to run around and call handballs on all the Frenchies down there.
