this sounds like the same argument that got hockey in trouble "our size gives us credibility"

could expansion work? yes, so long as the MLS is ok with being generally low-level adequate. It works as a mid-major sport. As long as this does work it'll work... but eventually you run into the same problems... and the bigger markets may chafe to some degree under the MLS system.

Don't expect it to all go according to plan.

MLS schedules their All-Star game the day after Champions League matches? Seems kinda silly, since you lose access to some of your better players.

It showed in the first half. MLS players were slow.

Seattle is actually playing right now, during the All Star game! But Garber takes the CCL very seriously:rolleyes:

Of course, they set the dates for this game well before the CCL schedule was ever published.

They do, but only released the dates in April. I'm not sure when MLS released the date of the All Star game. Either way, last years CCL opening round was held in the last week of July, so it wouldn't have been too hard to guess when it was going to be.

How can Mexico be in the CCL and Copa Libertadores? Just saying it's not fair that Mexico gets two bites at the apple.

He was pwning at Puebla, not yet at Pachuca. And Puebla isn't that good, either.

Fair? Since when is this about fairness? FMF sure deserves that reward of Copa Libertadores more than MLS does. They get invited because the league is solid.

About my point about Mexico. You know one Mexican team will qualify for the World Club Championship from CONCACAF. Why do they need to be in South America too?

Well, if the implication is about earning playing time, then yes, I would think the quality of the team around him matters.

I'm glad he's having success - maybe he just needed a change in scenery.
