Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Ok, can Holy Cross make the USCHO rankings? Can they play for any sort of DIII championship? Conference or NCAA?

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

big game this weekend Elmira and plattsburgh what the talk. Both team are shooting over 50 shots a game. Both are the top 5. lets her from Elmira and Plattsburgh fans what the gut feelings about the game

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Your right it is a big game!

Given the shot's on goal these two teams have racked up early in the season methinks this 2 game set will come down to goaltending and special teams play.

Both teams are well coached and have recruited favourably in the off season.
Platty has an unknown transfer goalie and Loewen who has always been steady while Elmira has 3 rookie goalies this year.

It's anybody's guess at this point but both games should be closley contested.

I predict 1 goal wins by either team .....or two ties.

Again I will, at the risk of being a pain in the arse go on the record that it's too bad the games couldn't be watched via webcast....

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the shots on goal will be significantly lower this weekend

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

any elmira fans or platty tell us what to look for in this game

Should be a great series. Both teams lost significant members of the core of their teams. EC lost Coady, Huntley, F Hart and Cubberley while Plattsburgh lost Blanchard, Brien, O'connor, Brown, Bywater, and Beattie.

Both teams look like they may not have the scoring prowess they've had the last eight years but their defenses should both be strong once again.

I think it's going to come down to goaltending and special teams. cliche as it is that's been the difference between these two teams in most of their meetings over the last eight years. Elmira got the upper hand last year but a big part of that was the play of Allison Cubberley.

I;'ll predict a split but it wouldnt surprise me if either team took three or four points this weekend with the right bounce of the puck.

Not sure you will be hearing much from the Platty fans, their all busy getting out and dusting off their 'Rabbit Ears" to get tuned in for the big game...that is unless they have cable in Plattsburgh? Do they? :)

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

I didn't know what to do with the poll this week after the top 3.

Here's how I'll be voting...But it really could go anywhere after the top 3.

1.Amherst
2.Plattsburgh
3.Middlebury
4.Norwich
5.Lake Forest
6.River Falls
7.Elmira
8.RIT
9.Neumann
10.Superior

Yes, Gustavus should be on this list but I took a new approach this week, a psuedo SAY WHAT approach and tried to throw out the team's "names" and rank them by what they have done so far.

Rip them apart...
