Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

1. Amherst - Until they give a reason to not be there.
2. Plattsburgh - Two wins against Elmira. Can't deny them. Not a homer move.
3. Elmira - Still close games. Just a step behind.
4. Middlebury - By default. Dominant weekend.
5. River-Falls - Neutral. Weird week for them. Went out on a high note with the win over Superior Saturday.
6. Gustavus - Not the best looking week for the team who's supposed to be the western front-runner.
7. RIT - 17-1 doesn't impress me. I refuse to move them anywhere.
8. Lake Forest - Keep on rolling.
9. Norwich - Lake Forest has played tougher teams to this point.
10. Manhattanville - Lots of goals. Now let's seem 'em against Elmira this weekend.

Give me a break, this is college hockey not tiddly winks.

If this was little girls playing pewee hockey or whatever they call it then yeah you have reason to be upset about running up the score. This isn't though, this is college hockey suck it up or switch to figure skating.

I could care less about the rankings. Move them up, move them down, keep them where they are, doesn't matter to me. But if you "penalize" a team because you don't like how many goals they scored on someone that is just stupid.

No one else is impressed because they have played Neumann and Potsdam. The test for RIT is in 3 weeks when they travel to Amherst for a pair.

I couldn't agree more. It's fine and all that they scored 17 goals even though they were just dumping pucks in and not actually trying to score. Still doesn't mean I should be impressed. Mania, you're saying its not college tiddly winks, well obviously it is if they can score just by dumping pucks in like all you RITers are saying.

This is an interesting poll....I'm curious who gave Gustavus a first place vote despite going 0-1-1 against NCHA opponents...and barely gettin by Bethel game 2. Also that Superior jumps Lake Forest who they went 0-1-1 against

Yeah...That's why I had a hard time cracking Superior into the T-10.

I could care less about RIT but I agree with Mania. College hockey. Suck it up or get off the ice.

I'm not sure why anyone would give Gustavus a first place vote given the start to their season. If they would have beat Superior they would remain in my top 3. As for the second game against Bethel, they had a different goalie in who was actually quite good. Jones made numerous great saves in this game and the shots Gustavus took were not the usual half of them from the point, most of them were fairly quality. Credit to Jones. As for Superior jumping Lake Forest, the only way I can see that happening is that Superior has beaten better teams, but they have also lost to a few "not so good" teams, which is why I still have Lake Forest above Superior. I am looking forward to Jan 26th, Superior @ Gustavus. I am pretty sure the result will be different. :)

I'm guessing it has something to do with them being screwed over and getting 0 of the stars from Plattsburgh and people were mad that RIT put up 17 on Potty.


That is a wierd turnout...I wonder how much attention the pollsters pay to D3. It looks like they didn't give Platty much credit before this weekend...Elmira lost 6 first place votes from the week before.
