Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Sorry, but in my opinion, until a western team actually defeats an eastern team in ameaningful contest, they don't deserve to be in the top six.

In the past four years, the west has struggled against TOP RANKED eastern teams. East still rules DIII women's hockey. West is still the pretender. :)

Hmmm, all I want to say is... OUCH!

I do seem to recall two western teams beating the National Champs last year...but those games didn't really count because Amherst wasn't accustomed to jv level of play in the west.

looks like plummer must be a good coach because in the end he has his team prepared for a national championship they loose in the beginning and coach them to win in the end
I am not a amhurst fan

Plumer is great coach. Tireless work ethic, extremely talented when it comes to recruiting, and very cerebral. He'll keep the Amherst program in good stead.

Been First Class every time I've met and talked with him.

Interesting game coming up -- Norwich vs. New England College. Two "second ten" teams, both undefeated. Winner should crack the top ten. NU was "up and coming" last year. NEC is very young with 1st and 2nd year players carrying the load.

NEC plays Amherst in less than two weeks too. That should really give some sense of how good they are - and to a certain extent, vice versa.

Norwich is already in the top 10???? They were #8 in the latest USCHO poll???

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Norwich 4 NEC 1 maybe now the Cadets might get some love from Go Jackets. I doubt it though.

13 voted in this poll and the last poll.

According to USCHO Holy Cross is not a DIII team and so I have not included them. They wouldn't have made the top 10 either way.

From the looks of last week's poll, I'm not sure if anyone can be bumped out of the top 10 for Norwich with the results so far this weekend. Unless more Cadet fans start voting in the poll...

Stevens point will drop out with their loss to St Olaf i'm sure..but there is still 10 teams..i'll probably vote for Norwich over Mville

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

I just saw the Lake Forest / St. Mary's game. IMHO, Lake Forest will win many games this season. They have a highly skilled team with many new recruits adding some quickness to their play. Their PP is very formidable and they use a pressing style of forecheck to create many opportunities.

Carissa Zaban is a great coach and I really expect them to be ranked in the top ten, before too long.

Rollin'...Rollin'...Rollin'.........It's nice to see this prediction come true. This team is really focussed. Also, the scheduling gods have been very favorable this year.....some of LF's toughest games to come, will be at home this year.

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

maybe just don't want to fuel the flamefest just yet...don't worry...i'll start calling Neumann overrated and telling you eastern folks how it is soon enough:D :D

GoJ.. thanks for the restraint. We can certainly air out regional biases as results trickle in. I'm not up for red state/blue state banter in an area of common interest. I admire all good play and that's why the webcast schedule for the western teams is a good thing for me to latch onto -- I will be sure to check in on UWRF often.

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

Here's the poll I'll be submitting and in the process I'll get this week's fan poll started off in the process:

1.Amherst
2.Gustavus Adolphus
3.Elmira
4.Plattsburgh
5.Middlebury
6.RIT
7.River Falls
8.Norwich
9.Neumann
10.Lake Forest

Re: Women's DIII 2009-2010 Fan Opinion Poll

4: RIT – A win and a loss against a historical mediocre team whose claim to fame this year is beating a team with four (that would be 0-4-0) losses. Impressive.]

i dont usually post but....
RIT is currently undefeated
no loss against this "historically mediocre team" you speak of
