Women's Beanpot 2013 -- The Year's Only Competitive Beanpot

Re: Women's Beanpot 2013 -- The Year's Only Competitive Beanpot

HahahahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHA

Both BU programs with an invite to the BU Invitational portion of this year's Beanpot. #5pm! #5pm! #5pm! #5pm!

This is just marvelous.

Two very entertaining games. Glad to see NU win. Coyne is nice to watch.

How about Durocher pulling Sperry with 6 minutes left in the game?

Re: Women's Beanpot 2013 -- The Year's Only Competitive Beanpot

NU goalie looks slow and awkward to me. If BU can get some passing combinations happening down low they should be able to capitalize...just get her moving to one side...her recovery time is too long.

Just back from several weeks off due to injury. She moved as fast as she needed! ;)

Mutch did that at BC my freshman year and it worked -- I don't think it's a terrible idea. What was terrible was not getting the goalie back on at the end of the BU power play when Coyne walked in for the empty netter waved off by the offsides call.

All she needed to do was coast for a half second and the game would have been over. If BU had come back in the game that would have been a colossal error.

I don't think so. If she doesn't cheat on the line, she can't catch the pass.

Was at the 1999 Men's Junior World Championship Game...Canada vs defending champion Finland (preliminary round)...Canada pulled their goalie (might have been Luongo) for an extra attacker in the second period just to rattle the Fins!!!!

The home town crowd loved it!!

Was never at a louder hockey game...15,000 people on their feet many times during that game and stayed on their feet for minutes at a time!...quite an experience.

Haley Skarupa's shot is directed to the corner by Harvard's Emerance Maschmeyer

Looking at the the boxscore II'm guessing the Bu coach won't be matching up those lines the next time, Huxs great picture of Coyne shows her all alone.

Hux, why do you ignore me now? Do you hate me? :(

No, its tough love. :p I've not had time to hook up the external drive and dig through for photos for ya. I'm not a photo Pez machine ya know.

Was that the event in Winnipeg ?. Luongo was indeed the goaler on that team and he was named Goaltender of the tourney. Tom Renne was the Coach. Canada won that game vs Finland 6-4, but ended up falling to the Russians, 3-2 in the final. Note that Luongo was also on the WJR squad the year before.

Harvard-Princeton men's game back in mid 2000's at Harvard. Harvard goes up 8-2 or 8-3 with about 10 minutes left in the game. Princeton coach starts pulling the goalie every time Princeton gets the puck deep into the Harvard zone. Princeton suddenly looks like a different team and Harvard has no idea what to do. Final score Harvard 8, Princeton 6. And if I remember correctly, Princeton hit a couple of posts also. Last 5 minutes of the game played in near total (stunned) silence - might have been a sellout - could hear the players talking on the ice crystal clearly.

Just back from several weeks off due to injury.

Do you know the nature of the injury and how long she was off...do you mean over a month?

Very endearing interview at the end of the game.
