Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2024-2025

Has anyone been notified about the presale of tickets for next Saturday's game or know whether there will be a presale of tickets for next Thursday's game at LaBahn? Sale to the public begins tomorrow at 9am CT.

MJ, quoted by Nicole Haase's article at USCHO:
“I put Woz[niewicz] out there just because, she skates so well, she’s got energy. She’s in really good shape, so she recovers quickly. Maybe something can happen,” said Johnson, who also said he believed the game was headed for overtime.
Maybe Simms was gassed and Woz wasn't. Good to keep tabs on who's fresh and who isn't and adjust lines accordingly. At some point, teams will have non-invasive, continuous monitoring via wearable devices for lactate level, muscle oxygen saturation, heart rate, etc. For the rest of the season, we can rely on a genius coach to observe players when they approach the bench and know instinctively who'll need more time before their next shift. Next season, maybe not.

I received notice of season ticket holder pre-sale - and put in an order - on Monday Feb 24th; two weeks ago tomorrow.

I signed in just now to see what it would say if I wanted to add to my order, etc, and it only says "on sale tomorrow" (for both Thursday and Saturday).

After checking with my family, I submitted the request form on 2/25 for several more than the number of season tickets I have. The confirmation said my "credit card will be charged immediately after it has been determined if Wisconsin will host" - which happened officially this morning. So far, my credit card has not been charged. I guess I'll be contacting the ticket office in the morning. If I can reach a real person, I'll order tickets for the Thursday game then.

I think you're reading a little too much into that "immediately". :)

(Ad FWIW, while there was a decent crowd for the Thursday game last year, it was nowhere near a sellout. Saturday, yes, Thursday you could have bought a ticket at walk-up.)

They already have continuous heart rate monitoring, so that may have played a role.

Seriously?
I don’t have any inside info or anything, but from what I can tell, they do. At one of the games in Minnesota last season I was sitting right behind the Badgers bench, and I could see a tablet on the D side and one on the forwards side that had a bunch of rectangles that would change color, along with some text (presumably names, but too small for me to actually read). The number of rectangles fit the number of D/forwards. It looked just like the heart rate monitor screen from when I did some group fitness classes, so I started paying attention. The boxes would change color in conjunction with line changes and play stoppages, enough to completely convince me that they were live heart rate monitors.

That's crazy.

It is nuts that he inserts Woz and Scannell in non-typical shift spots and they both score.

I did get an email yesterday saying my CC will be charged for the NCAA game and I'll get seats assigned based on my ranking on the pool of season ticket holders. I am extremely loyal but I don't give one extra red cent to the greedy athletic dept. The money just goes to football anyway. I would donate if I knew 100% that my money was staying in the women's hockey program.

Checked the UW web site for the heck of it, and it looks like Saturday is a sell-out.

(Literally whole sections available for Thursday. I looked up what the Thursday crowd was last year for Penn State and St Lawrence: 700. I think half were friends and family of Tessa Janecke. )

I may take my daughter to the Thursday game, we shall see. I'm taking the eldest son to the NCAA game Saturday.

If you call the donor site directly, you can specifically donate to women's hockey. We do this every year. Granted, they've made it a bit more difficult each year, but we've still found a way. We give our required donation to football and then we give smaller amounts to women's hockey and swimming & diving.

TDM has a great article up on Madison.com about the Covid death of the 2020 season. Robert made mention of that fateful day recently in this thread. Two mentions in the past week of one of what I would call for me the most gut wrenching loss of all time.

Obviously, it was hard for the seniors, but they had won the 2019 championship. And the rest would win 2021. I feel just as bad for the other teams, particularly Cornell. They were the #1 seed (UW was #2), their school has never won a championship, that might have been their years, etc. UW senior had their chance taken away, but it's like the whole of Cornell - player, fans alumni - lost their chance.

And Madison native - Tim's favorite player - Amanda Kessel was the winner that year.
A lot of unpleasant memories coming to light in this thread. YUCK.......I'm here to have some fun. We got the PK Hatty baby! Whoot! Next year it will be Simms, Edwards and Harvey UW will surpass the rodents in the number of PK Hatties. Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
