Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2024-2025

Having next weekend off (because of the Chicago/Ohio State weekend) is going to come at a good time.
I am worried sick about these injuries. I suppose as long as they're ready to go for the NCAA tournament we've got about 4 weeks of window to get them healed there.

I was just looking at the video to see what happened with Ava Murphy. Unless something else happened that I didn't see, about halfway through the first period she makes a couple of 'against the boards' plays in a row in the Badger's D end, looks a little uncomfortable holding her stick, but finishes the shift, and then again looks uncomfortable and a little bent over heading for the bench. No obvious 'big hit' etc, like Potter's injury was.

I don't think she came out for the trophy ceremony... I guess worst case I'd take one of the two back before the NCAAs. There's really no way I want to go into that with 4D and I really don't want to move Laila to D.

Maybe she was just sick; cold/flu, etc. Tried to go, but couldn't last.

(I was sick as can be this past week, an 'odd' cold that blew up after a couple normal days, to three days of 103 temp. Just to be safe, I sat against the north wall, as 'away' from people as I could, even though I'm very likely not contagious anymore.)

There's a weird amount of time to get healthy because of the way this shakes out.

You've got a bye weekend. A weekend at Bemidji. And then almost certainly another weekend back at LaBahn against Bemidji. And sorry, Bemidji, we're going to have to be missing more than a D or two for you to pull that upset.

It's 26 days until the Final Faceoff Semi against likely the UMD/SCSU winner.

If you don't worry about rushing people back trying to get the trifecta, it's 34 days out to the NCAA Quarterfinal, which is likely a matchup at LaBahn against something like the Penn State/Quinnipiac winner (based on current Pairwise but certainly subject to change)

After that, 40 days to the Frozen Four.

Just wanted to stop by and say congratulations on winning the Julianne Bye Cup, the hardest trophy to win in college women's hockey! You guys really ran away with it this season! Robertearle would probably know if this is the earliest anyone has ever clinched it as there are still four conference games left for most of the teams (five for you guys as you wrap up your series tomorrow). Our Buckeyes just have two more conference games left, so help us out and win again tomorrow! 😀

The reason Ohio State only has one more weekend and has a bye next weekend is That's where the Wisconsin-Ohio State pair of games in Madison was on the schedule, before it got moved to January for the stupid Wrigley Field game. Wisconsin has a bye next weekend, too, because of it, and only one series remaining, vs Bemidji.

Offhand, I'd look at Minnesota's undefeated season; almost "by definition", they'd have had to clinch this early.

Good call, how could I forget about Minnesota's undefeated season? Was that 2012-13?

You are a better person than I am. That is for certain.

Thanks for putting this together. I will admit I could have but I was a bit lazy. A lot of healing can happen in 34 days.

Today is going to be interesting lineup wise. I'd bet serious money UW posts the same lineup from yesterday. UW's media person is pretty lazy.

I'm concerned about a hangover for UW and the rodents playing with a lot of pizz and vinegar. They were completely embarrassed yesterday. Chippiness is also a big concern.

Kuntz starting in goal today?
As a 'Senior Day, parents are in town' thing? Maybe.

As a 'McNaughton might need a break' thing? Open weekend next weekend, and then what amounts to an exhibition weekend in Bemidji will allow plenty of time for rest and mental breaks, etc. for everyone.
