Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2023-2024

I don't think we need to compare women's teams. All of the sports depend on the football-related revenue, and it's a thankless job to try to parse out who deserves what. I don't begrudge any non-income sport its share. That being said, women's hockey hasn't had any facility upgrades essentially since LaBahn was built. I am confident that a capital campaign for a new scoreboard would raise at least some of the money, but the Athletic Department would need to actually put it on the to-do list. Perhaps if more AD staff attended women's hockey games, they would recognize the need. Hope springs eternal.

Particularly with an increased number of matches being televised this year, I'm not at all sure that volleyball is a "non-income sport".

It seems *quite* obvious to me that that is not T377's opinion; that is T377 assuming the voice of the University and Athletic Dept and what they are saying to non-smartphone users with their 'digital only' ticket policy. You and he/she are very much in agreement.

Looking forward to watching. Someday I'll get out to The Barn. Hope we give you guys a good fight!

It's LaBarn......

I'm a little bummed. I'm just getting over a cold and my lung capacity is not 100% so I won't be able to yell my self to hoarseness like usual. I do think me at 75% is louder than 90% of people at 100% anyway. It's hard to believe the season is here already.

(While the context here isn't exactly the Big Ten, in the Big Ten "The Barn" is U of Minnesota's Williams Arena. It is the home of the Gopher basketball teams, and was the home of the men's hockey team until 1993, and that part of Williams was converted to the Maturi Pavilion, which is now where the Gopher volleyball and gymnastics teams compete. If I have any of that wrong, there are Gopher fans who can correct it.)

Not a correction, the wrestling team also has its home meets in the Pavilion.

I'm not sure if I can blame Gervais on the 1st and 3rd goals. From where I sit I can't see the lay of the land where the UW defenders were or how close in the shots came from. Was she back in the crease too far or going down too early? They were great shots. She did have some great saves in the other 2 periods.

The 4th line wingers got zero ice time, Gorbs was spot played and looked good other than the checking from behind/crosscheck she should have been called for in the 3rd period. Whew on that one. It was 4-3 at the time. After that the BC coach was decrying a penalty on UW every time a BC player went down to get the make-up call that never came.

I was at the game last night. We usually like to get something to eat at the games. I will be eating before games now. $13 for a cheesesburger? Holy crap!

I have been a lurker of the USCH forum for several years now but a fan of Wisconsin hockey for quite some time now.

This years team is LOADED!! I guess we will see how they perform when the schedule gets more difficult.

In about 10:years I fully expect a Mark Johnson statue on campus. We are so blessed to have him.

Also wanted to say how much it is appreciated for those that provide detailed info on upcoming Badger recruits and the different line configurations.
