If he answered that question bluntly, I doubt you would have liked what he would have probably said.

He already said what we didn't want to hear, he's a goner for sure. I don't think there's any UW fans who think he'll end up at UW.

Agreed. No need for the typical Goof trolls to come rub it in some more. I expect this to happen more and more until there is a change made....

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXX: 1 All American at a Time

If he goes to Wisconsin he'll need to join the exodus of the educated out of Wisconsin to Chicago or Minneapolis to find a job.

Ha Ha. That's hardly the case. Not surprisingly, you fit the stereotype of the typical Minnesota / Illinois *big city* elitist.

Well, in this case, Boeser's desired post-college job doesn't have openings in Wisconsin (though there is one option a little bit closer (than Chicago or the Twin Cities) to Madison that is a stepping stone to a pretty good job in Nashville).

If I came across as trolling, it wasn't meant that way. I'm simply pointing out that putting a kid (or anybody for that matter) in that spot will likely lead to a pretty innocuous response.

My guess is TJK wasn't referring to you, Hammy, so much as SJHovey (Who is a Whioux, I believe) bringing up our current record that shall not be named.

Some of us Badgers are a little edgy as of late. I think the paint thinner shortage is getting to us.

10-1 Boeser has already picked out a goat.

In with my guess....a Tischke teammate...Jake Bunz. Madison kid, almost 20, and Eaves loves him some size on his project dmen.

Looks like I need to play the lottery today....lucky guessing. From Baggot:
"5. It appears UW coach Mike Eaves will try and bring in a defenseman at the semester break to fill the roster void created when freshman Keegan Ford left the team Dec. 9. All signs point to Jake Bunz, the former Middleton High School standout now with Chicago of the U.S. Hockey League, getting that spot provided he’s accepted into school. His father, Garry, played for the Badgers from 1984 to ’87."

As a general rule I stay out of "team" threads, and certainly try to avoid snarky comments in them since they are generally for fans of that particular program to come in and discuss/complain/commiserate about their team.

But if you want to insult the educational standards of UND, where I went to school in that thread, I may have something to say about it. :)

Someone else mentioned educational rankings. I had heartburn with GopherPuckFan2.0 indicating you have to leave Wisconsin for Illinois and Minnesota to find a job. Hey may have been indicating NHL teams, but it seemed snarky to me. I went to UW and have had no problems finding a job here. So we are sensitive about similar things.

Not sure what's "insulting" about it, unless you're of the opinion that if 100 gifted kids were given a choice between full academic rides at UW or at UND it would break evenly? If that's your take, by all means, be insulted, I guess. I'm not insulted that they would choose Harvard, if possible, way more often than UW and those two are a lot closer in academic ratings than UW and UND are.

Or maybe I'm just way off base because I've never attended sensitivity training.

I assume Jake Bunz will eventually pass muster academically, or he wouldn't be on the radar. Anybody seen him play recently?

USA wins gold at the World Junior A Challenge. Seamus Malone was an alternate captain and had one goal in the tournament. Brock Boeser had four goals and an assist.

Tyson Jost had two goals and an assist for Canada West, while Dante Fabbro had a goal and two assists.

Should be 4-2-6. He set up the winning goal to Novak (3-4-7) and I'm 90% sure Sheehy should have the second assist (should be 1-3-4). I feel like the Canadians were depressed about another American win and wanted to get the heck out of there and said screw having an accurate box score.

I thought I heard that as well but the box score didn't reflect it. Thanks.

Any word on this? Is Jake the new d-man to fill in Keegan's spot?

Re: Wisconsin Recruiting Vol. XXX: 1 All American at a Time

I said right from the get go that hiring Butters was a mistake. I don't think he is a bad guy but he wasn't the same coach he was many years ago at the U.

Not sure I'd lay too much blame at his feet though. After all, it's not like UW didn't land any quality recruits when Butters was around.

Ultimately, the head man has to take the blame because it is his program (and his choice of assistant coach). Eaves has made some head scratcher decisions ever since Osiecki left.
