Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Why didn't you just email Jason King for the data. Surely he has all that data at his finger tips.

he and I had a decent email exchange this weekend (he was responding and friendly on a sunday) and because I did it over the weekend.

it was pretty easy, I just made the mistake of going to the stats page, not the roster page.

Matt Jurusik is my boiii. My favorite player on the team (along with Kunin).

Going to my first men's game of the year this Saturday. Has to be better than the last game I went to when they didn't even show up last year against Tech and got smoked 8-1.

Also have tickets for the women's game that afternoon against North Dakota. Frankly, I think I'm more excited for that game than the men's game against Minnesota.

With the men's season again sliding into the abyss, it'll be interesting what the attendance and overall atmoshere will be.

Got 3 tickets to Saturday's game. The lower bowl seems to be almost completely sold out looking at the map. Haven't been to a Badger-Gopher game in a long time. Should be fun!

I'm going saturday, but the guy that sits next to me has a son in law from Minnesota and he sits and whines the whole game, so unless the badgers win, it will stink.

I lived in the Twin Cities for seven years (08-15). That's what they do.

As of yesterday morning, sales were about 10k for Friday and about 12k for Saturday.

We'll have to see how many actually show up though.

Agreed. I would think though, that even a lot of disgruntled former ticket holders probably selected this weekend as the games they would break down and attend if any.

I chose the Michigan series, but your point is likely correct..

it's going to appear to be a lot, but that is based on the other games so far this year which have been empty. But normally this game would be sell out for Saturday and possibly Friday and we aren't close to that.

The information I just got from a reliable source says Friday at 9,330 and Saturday at 10,899.

I think we'll end up at about 10k and 12k by the time everything is said and done.

And to keep things in perspective, selling 10k tickets for a game is still more than every school outside of Ohio State, North Dakota, and Minnesota could even dream of.

Wisconsin's "down" attendance of 7,858 per game is still more than the total capacity of 52 other arenas.

And yes, "tickets sold does not equal butts in the seats", I get that. But I think it is still pretty amazing when we look at the numbers and what they look like compared to the rest of the college hockey world

So there is no issues with people dropping tickets, right? no problems with attendance?

Come on buddy, quit toting the line for the Athletic Dept.

We don't compare ourselves to the rest of the college hockey world. That's just rationalizing on your part.

We compare ourselves to what we once had and should be striving to reattain.

You really need to stop polishing this turd.

I fall into this category. Former season ticket holder who likes to catch a couple of games a year. Picked the Saturday night games against Minnesota & Michigan.

While I definitely understand not buying tickets in the first place, I don't understood the concept of just eating tickets. I know things are not going well right now, but not able to even give away tickets? It's weird and an issue for other Badger sports as well, just more pronounced with men's hockey.
