Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the problem!!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

I agree but I think the ref thought he could have easily avoided stopping there.

He doesn't have to avoid stopping there. The rule is you can't deliberately spray the goaltender. I'd think everybody knows what that means.

I'd like to see the replay but my impression is that Hughes is going hard to the net, the puck is in the area and he's being checked on his left. Stopping is what Hughes is supposed to do. It's an awful call in a one goal game to put a team down 5 on 3.

Eaves will probably get a letter saying the call was wrong. That will be helpful.

Things are great, team is playing well.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

At least I got my poster. This week was a win! :D

As a footnote, I was at Senior night for two of those 90 Badgers' sons (high school) tonight.

Time flies...

it's a young team, once they get some experience under their belt everything will be O.K.

The hope of a .500 season is dead. 4-10-6.

No rolling eye, eek, or embarrassed emoticon? I hope your tongue is in your cheek!  :o

My optimistic view of this team took a large hit this weekend.

That is an ugly record, no way to sugar coat it.

The last few years have been so frustrating and disappointing.

Why you guys gotta be so negative all the time?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Imagine if ASU didn't exist.

Below is what I posted on 1/12, I think we are on the same page:

Well here we are at mid-season and while this season has been mildly more entertaining than last season's toilet bowl, here is what we have to show for it.

We have 4 wins which is the same as last season. But alas, 2 of those win came against Arizona State, a first year team without a conference. Take away those two wins and that means ASU has beaten more real teams than Wisconsin! Excluding ASU, the only team nationally with fewer wins than Wisconsin is Niagra.

Attendance is down again, and our fearless leader is talking about making hay when all we are getting is horse apples. Please BA, pull the trigger so the turn-around can begin!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

why would I use that? everyone here is serious all the time!

Want to look at hockey history over time under Mike Eaves? Here you go. (I have too much time while on Paternity leave) 2008 was difficult to find anyone who left, so I had to try to go by memory.

Green is wins, Reds are losses, Blue are ties. Magenta is games that went into over time (games like cornell that did multiple overtimes I added all the stats together for 1 entry) If there was a tie, i added win/loss in the AA column.

Comments/feedback welcome.

Nice chart, that was an eye opener to me. Unfortunately for the Badger faithful, it clearly says that Eaves has at least 1-2 more years of immunity from the administration. JMO :)

Awesome charts. I love stuff like that. Too bad it makes me sad. Do one for the women's team so we all can feel happy, of course all you have to do to feel happy is buy a ticket, look at the banners and watch the machine that is UW women's hockey. :)
