Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

I have to say also that the impact of Strand and Bittner is underwhelming at this point.

I guess maybe I'm dumb (it's happened before) Eaves said this in his 20 questions/20 answers:

"I think that there is common ground on some of the things we do, but there will be definite changes in some of the systems play that we have. It will be interesting to see whether or not our fans can see the difference. I can tell you right now already in our practices some of the things we are implementing will be different. As subtle or not subtle as they are, it will be interesting to get some feedback from our fans."

I am seeing little difference, and what i am seeing isn't positive. We are still making the same crappy plays. we're still failing on defense, we're still playing trap, we still have horrible dump and chase the other team back down the ice.

Oh-oh. Idiot fans don't notice anything.

Let's give Mike one more year. I think he had to figure out how to recruit factoring in early departures. We all have to agree he can coach and recruit top talent. I am not an Eaves family member.

I think he SHOULD have the whole early departure replacement thing down by now.

so what you're saying is we should recruit (and be really bottom heavy on it) then we'll be crappy for 2 years, alright a 3rd and successful in a 4th? I'm not a "what have you done for me lately" type, but looking at his stats he's not near any of the other elite programs in terms of production. Nor is he close to our other 2 coaches. There is a standard that should be expected on the ice. After 14 years and 3 cycles of the "4 year program" enough is enough.

Now I wil refer you to a quote from the movie The Thing (John carpenter version) "you've got to be...." Fill in the rest.

Why does Eaves deserve yet another year? Did Sauer ever win less than 12 games in a season? No. Eaves will accomplish this totally amazing and awesome feat in 2 consecutive years.

He isn't living up to program standards unless you want a new normal. Wisconsin hasn't been a national (let alone conference) power in 21 years.

He goes and so does his staff and Alvarez, period.

I WANT WINNERS!

Winners would be awesome. I just want competitive teams fielded who play 60 minutes of hockey. I don't want teams playing 20 minutes of hockey scattered across 60 minutes(on a good night). Playing to win instead of tie/not lose.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

I predicted Eaves demise at less than a dozen wins. ( I think... I can't remember exactly, but it was something like that.) I was thinking today though that it may depend on what was said in Barry's office last year. Eaves isn't a fool and he certainly had an inkling of what he would have this year. It's possible that he just told Barry they would suck this year too, in which case, who knows what they have in mind going forward?

Just thought I'd try to cheer you guys up.

he has no problem pushing other people on the sword. He's smart in the fact that he's all about self preservation. Knowing he's a failure would scuff up that huge ego/head of his.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

If anyone sees Ty Emberson at the game on Saturday, be friendly and don't do anything illegal! :)

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Let him know the Gophers will be happy to have him.

FYP.

Ty Emberson would look pretty good next to Tyler Inamoto on the blue line.

Nope-this year should be it; he hasn't figured out the recruiting in thirteen years?; not recruiting top talent, they have gone elsewhere; part of the athletic dept then?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Sick of losing. If he doesn't reach a .500 or better record this year than kick his *** to the curb. Get the Granatos+Oz to come be the coaches at all costs.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Well... it was full and they are winning.

Not sure what the BTN got wrong.

Talk to me after PSU wins a single NCAA championship or even a B1G championship. As far as Im concerned, PSU hasnt earned it yet.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Nic Kerdiles tweeted out support for the Badgers this weekend vs. Minnesota. I just discovered he was carried out on a stretcher a couple of weeks ago and is injured and out again for 6-8 weeks. Hopefully a full recovery and a good finish to the season is in store for him.

Second level student section pretty empty at 6 min late ft in the first. Best attended game this year (but that isn't saying much)
