Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

The officiating was horrendous overall. Does anyone with striped black and white shirts know *** a penalty and what arm actions correspond to what infractions anymore? It just ruins the game. Not that UW didn't ruin it for themselves, because they did....That was the worst called game I've seen all year taking into account seeing a lot of UW women's games.

You should see some of the high school games.

I only saw bits of the 3rd in a bar that we were in.

Looked like a decent crowd. Too bad we weren't even competitive.

I haven't see a HS game in a few years, Beaver Dam is the closest school and they have pretty much sucked perpetually. Waupun is having a nice year this year. There's only so many hours in the day. Maybe I can squeeze a HS game in this year.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

I have seen an awful lot of whining about the officiating on this thread today.

The refs didn't lose this game, focus on what the real problem is....Mike Eaves recruiting classes are for the most part (with the exception of a few) a collection of 3rd line players. We are getting out skilled and unless our goaltender steals a game, don't expect to win more than a couple games the remainder of the year!

Keep the refs.....FIRE MIKE EAVES!

I think juneau not having a team kept me from hockey for a few years. and when they did have the rink (before it was replaced with the tennis courts) I was the only person out there with sticks and a puck.

Nobody said the refs cost UW the game. They said they sucked. You're free to disagree.

A fellow Juneau-ite, cool. They had a slab of poorly maintained on by the HS a couple years ago, it was bad. 5 or 6 years ago I had built a nice small sheet of ice on my front yard and did it for 2 years. It was fun designing, building and maintaining it. My boys played hockey in Beaver Dam as mites and squirts, then more important things in life ended that, but it was fun. LaBahn is our home rink now.

Eaves said in the postgame they simplified things for the 3rd period because they were not connecting the dots. The 3rd period was their worst period offensively. Smooth strategic move Exlax.

Hughes is very good.

Agree 100%. While I haven't gone to a game, I DID watch last night until it was 3-0. The difference in talent was obvious and MN isn't even in the top 20.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Nicole Haase tweeted apparently Luke Kunin isn't playing tonight and there's no reason cited. Anyone know anything?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Posick just tweeted that it is an upper body injury.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Well tonight I was taking a look at what games are being telecast tonight on Direct TV and see if any catch my eye.

To illustrate how *** up our athletic department and the Big Ten conference/network are.....I found the Badger Gopher game is being broadcast on New England Sports Network (NESN) and Comcast SportsNet Chicago, but alas the Big Ten could not spare one of its alternate channels to broadcast the game to the local markets. Fox Sports Midwest and WI are televising NBA games, so I will be forced to watch an NHL game. YOU SUCK BARRY!!!!

Down 2-0 after 5 minutes. Ugh.

Jurusik pulled.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

3-0 in less than 6 minutes.

Eaves called a timeout to plan his retirement options.

Well Bucky is off to another roaring start!

12 seconds into the game Wisconsin down 1-0
4:05 into 1st 2-0 Minnesota - Jurusik yanked - Miller in net
5:52 into 1st 3-0 Minnesota - Outshooting Bucky 7-1

Please let this be the complete embarrassment that finally wakes Barry up to the garbage that Eaves has been putting on the ice for the last few years!!
