Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Wow a nine spot!

Why the hell is coach idiot letting his freshman goalie get lit up??? He has a senior backup on the bench who should be taking the beating....way to think about the kid coach!!!

To start him, yank him, then put him back in was crazy. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

This series reminds me of the late 80 or early 90's when UW would crush CC and Tech. Now I know what they felt like. I should dig up one of those out of the box of vcr tapes and pop one into the player and watch it tomorrow. Huge game with the sue tomorrow @ 1. Cleanse your hockey souls and come to LaBahn tomorrow.

I understand yanking a goalie, letting him refocus, then putting him back in.

But to leave the kid in after the 7th goal is just stupid. It is not like Miller wouldn't welcome any game time, regardless of the score and situation.

Another turd offered up by steaming pile Mike!!

Way to have your troops ready to play in front of the biggest crowd of the year!!

Any Mike Eaves apologists left out there should have your heads examined!

Barry are you listening?????

Wow, i agree with the steaming pile of Mike. A team that plays with no passion is all on the staff. Great hit by Wittchow though. The gophers can cry all they want, but that was a hockey hit and Novak got smoked. Probably should pay more attention cruising through the N zone like a pick up game. classic.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Anyone have video of the hit? I missed it at the game and they didn't show a replay on the big board.

Also: anyone notice Jurusik went to the wrong cage to start the 2nd period? Concussion? Just extremely rattled?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Oh i forgot, 18 year old playing with a 22 year old. That really needs to change :)

Not a great hit. Shoulder to the head and knocked Novak out.
Hope he likes sitting.

It was a dirty hit. Clearly shoulder to the head, and Eddie will get at least two games in street clothes because of it. But when your team gets embarrassed 9-2 at home, guess you need to find something to puff your chest about.

I have to agree...came from the side and launched into his head with his shoulder.

He can expect a suspension.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

I just watched the Wittchow hit on Novak. Wittchow did not jump into the hit. His skates were on the ice when he made contact. He hit Novak up high - it wasn't like that Ramage hit on SCSU that the refs screwed up several years back. Wittchow definitely landed his shoulder on the underside of the chin, even if possibly getting the upper chest first (if you want to get really technical). No matter what Wittchow's intent was at the time, the result was awful to see.

Unless I see more replays that somehow change things, that's all I have to say on that play. Those are all facts, based on the video I saw from a couple of angles. (I suppose the last sentence in that first paragraph was an opinion, but it's one we can all agree on.) Even if the game didn't turn out to be such a joke, I wouldn't complain about that call.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

Did leave his feet, shoulder to head. Textbook, just like Soleway was textbook from behind. Can't believe he didn't get tossed too. What a bunch of cheap, no talent hacks.

Hey dope the hit on Ustaski from behind was worse than any Soleway did and it was a no call. And the grabbing the face mask major that wasn't called....

It's irrelevant. Let's talk about a badger poster meet up. We can spend 5 minutes *****ing then drink until our hearts stop.

To me, the one positive from attending that game was that the student section still has great spirit. We had to find humor down the stretch in the third - chanting silly, sarcastic (and U-Mn teasing) things is better than just being sad. There's no way that would've happened in the other student sections based on my experience.

The women's game this afternoon was pretty exciting...

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXVI: Stop looking for the silver lining and ignoring the probl

wonder if putting a sign on barry's yard (only a sign, nothing illegal or anything) would maybe make him realize fans are ****ed. Barry's address is publicly available, Eaves is not.

The way his head snapped back i don't see a way he isn't suspended additionally. He already misses the next game with the disqualification.

And yes it was hard to watch. He was knocked out.

There was some energy but hardly any students in the second level. Pretty poor attendance I think.

Redemption Time -- let's hope the boys show some pride tonight!

Or not. That was humiliating.

I am not sure what inane metaphor Eaves will dream up this week, but this team does not have a case of Osgoode-Schlatter disease (as he bloviated last week week on his TV show); rather this program is a candidate for palliative care unless Dr. Alvarez removes this tumor of a coaching staff.

The Goofers started slow this season and have obviously improved over the course of the school year. The same cannot be said of the BADgers. This program is heading in the wrong direction and fast.
