Wisconsin Hockey 23-24: Hastily Making Wisconsin Hockey Great Again

How would a team who vacated their appearance in 1992 be credited with a title?

Easy. Take away the terrible refffing that forced Wisconsin into 4 or 5 3x5 situations and Wisconsin trounces Jeff Jackson’s lakers. And don’t take my word for it, Tom Mees and the other announcer were incredulous at the calls. If you’re an LSSU fan or Jackson apologist, I mean this with all due respect, go pound sand!

Well that looked a lot better. That calms my nerves a bit. Good job righting the ship Mike, good job responding. Finish strong tomorrow. Maybe OSU will do us another favor in East Lansing tomorrow.

OSU sure did. Hockey is a weird sport. In football the last place team rarely beats the first place team. And they definetely never beat the 1st and 2nd place teams in the same season. In football, even if the first place team plays lazy and like crap, their natural physical advantage will allow them to win. Hockey is just different and there's a mental aspect that has to be there.

Anyway. I feel like Stramel is on the verge. Maybe Hastings broke him down to build him back up or something. Guys gotta show up tomorrow and finish this weekend. Theres no time for stinkers anymore.

NCAA should change the tourney so the top seeds host. It's a no brainer IMO. If you want to promote the sport and get eyes on it then it needs to be in teams own back yard. And with a great atmosphere it will create life long fans. NCAA playoff hockey on home arenas just sounds amazing to me and I don't get why they haven't done it yet.

God I hope so. He’s been depressing from both a Wild fan and Badger fan perspective.

I guess 2 points is better than none. 4 shots in the 1st? Bantle needs to qualm the eff down with the penalties.

I was at both games this weekend. Took 5 of 6. Makes next weekend's window a little tighter but at the end of the day, they HAVE to take 1 outright win. There are 2 scenarios where co-champs exist: 1 W & 1 OT/SO L or 2 OT/SO Ws. 2 Ws win it and 1W & 1 OT/SO W win it. Single outright L and its over.

Boys fought hard tonight in a really tight game. Huge sigh of relief.

Would have been nice to stack the momentum from the Friday game into the first period of the Saturday game but I’ll take it.

Found the highlights when I got home and saw the OT winner - I’m guessing the PSU goalie would like to have that one back.

Great night for UW hockey - boys and girls.

I was at that game, didn't need ESPN to tell me what was going on. That game would definitely be called differently in this day and age. Love Jeff Sauer but he didn't have his best night and his team got beat mentally as much as anything that night.

That’s fair. Sauer should have called a timeout once McDonald got the misconduct for chirping at the ref for the 2-min penalty after tapping a guy in the backside (cue Tom Mees “oh my, if that’s all it was…”). Collected the guys, told them to keep their heads together, play how they did all season and the pucks would go in and LSSU and their 3 coaches on the ice would be vanquished

So we're down to a home series to win the Big 7 regular season title outright. I really can't wipe the grin off my face, you know it? Truly unbelievable. And I won't be able to watch the whole game because we'll be at Labahn watching the women. Hopefully it's on Big ten Plus and we can watch in the stands on my daughter's phone while we're watching the women play live.
